Re: 79 Silverado long box build
Its a Weiand Stealth intake. I got some nice valve covers as well. Also, plan on getting a 600cfm carb, pullys, and a air filter.

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
It looks alright, I need to paint the Oilpan still. And I want to get new pullys. But I'm a tad rushed for time.
I keep thinking you guys are gonna jump on my nuts for ditching the orange! cab Is pretty much off now. Most likely will have it sitting on the new 4x4 frame by next friday!

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
Why did you cut down so far to install 4x4 tranny hump? Was there a reason?

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
Yeah, notice the first picture on that post you see the difference? It's needed so that you can fit that transfer case in there. Plus it makes it a easier job to weld. And I cut it with a torch and only had 1 small fire

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
Been waiting on a front spring from rough country. Finally came in today. Rough Countey service is unbeleivably amazing. A++
So i've been busy putting the lift on and new bushings and such. Put a door on today and the front fenders. Also picked up a flaring kit and some brake line and redid the whole truck front to back. For only 50 bucks. Screw that buying pre bent ****. Heres some photos. I think i should probably order a new drag link.. But i did pick up some fancy, Got a new holly 670cfm carb, and some hooker Ceramic longtubes

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
You are ahead of me at this point lol. Looking good!
Who makes those headers, and where did you get them. I'm damn close to saying screw de-AIR tubing the headers I have, and getting a set of cheap headers...

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
Hey man! I have been working on this thing since December!
They're Hooker Headers, Ceramic coated. Retailed for like 600+ and the performance shop I buy all my stuff for my car and these as overstock and paid 350 out the door...

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
Lucky devil. Good deal on the headers!
I started to tear apart mine in September of '09, but then it sat for about 10 months...

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
Yeah i Know what you mean. Its sometimes hard to keep interest in a project. My car for example. I really wish I didn't buy this aftermarket block for it cause now that i realized I could have done a big block for the price its gonna cost me for this shortblock :/
Your truck is looking great by the way. I'm thinking about doing a cummins diesel swap next spring aswell. And maybe possibily a crewcab cab swap. I also got my eyes on this ol 67 c10 thats just sitting in the shop... that would look cool with a big block right? ohh mann.. it never ends does it?

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
Thanks, man! The Cummins swaps are nice. There is even a company out their now that sells motor mount brackets that make it a bolt in deal. Bit expensive, but if you don't have the time/resources to fab your own mounts, it seems like the next best thing...
http://www.avalancheengineering.com/new_products.html I've seen a couple crew cab swaps onto LWB frames. Those, with cut down beds look cool. Seems like a good people hauler option as well. There is a '83 K30 CCLB DRW with a 6.2 at a friends farm up the road that a guy left for about 8 years now... After my K10 is done, I want to try and get it sent to a friends tow yard, and send the guy a letter. Wait the needed time, then claim it.

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
Nice! thanks for the link. Yeah. I eventually want a Crewcab longbox with a cummins.
Goodluck on getting that truck! Anyone know where I can get a 1" body lift? for my truck? I just want a 1" body lift to help level out the truck a bit. The cab seems to be off a bit, probably cause I broke a bolt inside the front passenger spot.

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
Not to seem like a stalker, or anything but ORD sells a 1" body lift with all the needed hardware.
http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog/oneinchlift.htm Energy Suspension sells a body bushing kit if that would help you more. http://www.energysuspensionparts.com...sp?prod=3.4103

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
Its okay. It's nice to see at least one person has a interest to my thread hahaha!
Thanks for the links man. I'm gonna just run 37's instead of the 35's I originally wanted. These rough country lifts act like a 7.5" instead of the 6" it advertises.. And the springs are STIFF.
