Re: What is your favorite performance muffler?
Borla xr-1 ftw. They sound soooo good. They may be expensive, but they last forever. Aluminized mufflers will rot from the inside out pretty quick. Painted is even worse.

Re: What is your favorite performance muffler?
My son has CherryBomb Vortex mufflers, they sound wicked when you get on it, but mellow at cruising rpm. Only thing, I wish they were stainless. I figure he will get maybe 3-4 years from them, but we installed them with SS band clamps so the 2.5" stainless pipe butts up to the muffler inlet/outlet instead of slipping in or over, so they will come out for replacement real easy! Nice setup. The headers are Hedman Elites with a ceramic type coating and the pipes are SS.

Re: What is your favorite performance muffler?
For a 5.3 you'll want 2.5" for duals, 3" single.

Re: What is your favorite performance muffler?
I personally think Borla xr-1's sound amazing with all of the other straight through mufflers second. Like pypes race pro, dynomax ultra flo etc. They don't mask the sound of the motor like a Flow type muffler does. They sound raw

Re: What is your favorite performance muffler?
It's it comes down to personal taste. I had 40's and on my BB truck and I did not like the echo type/tinny sound...it's something you got to hear. My ears will hear sounds different than other ears. To me the spintech has a true deeper BB sound. All mufflers have qualities that make buyers prefer them. Thats just me and I am sure others will disagree. It's like colors...if we all had Green trucks our trucks would soon get boring.

Re: What is your favorite performance muffler?
For me it would be Flowmaster---I have ran them on a 65 Mercury Comet Caliente and on my 67 Chevy trk. They sound great and have good performance. They are also priced right for folks on a buget.

Re: What is your favorite performance muffler?
I have 50 series Flowmasters on my Vette and love them. They are not too loud, and do not have the drone of 40 series. On my truck I couldn't tell you what they are, but they are louder inside than the flowmasters, but it's got a built 6cylinder and the pipes come out right in front of the rear tires, as opposed to out the back on the Vette.

Sportsman Street Part # 3332 2 1/2 Center with offset I had 40 series on my truck and to me they didn't sound right with my 402BB. I heard a set of Spin Techs with a BB and they seemed to have a deeper yet mellow sound. Again we all hear sounds differently which is why we have so many flavors of mufflers to choose from. I gave my 40's to a board member here...I think for free. Again...nothing wrong with Flowmasters...they just were not what I was lookin for. They are not installed as the Circuit Rider is still a month or two away from being finished. Project Circuit Rider... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php?p=2964845
