Really hard to explain but I'm going to try...the plug that goes into the tranny, put the clip that goes into the plug about halfway in(there is a way to line that clip into the plug, once you put that clip halfway in you should see how they line up, then put the plug and clip up to the connector, push on the clip and plug at the same time it should slide all the way on the connector and your done

Does this set up have an adaptive strategy? I know some vehicles will shift weird until they "learn".
