Re: 1957 chevy family truck
thanx took me a few days to decide even after I shot it I was wasn't totally sold till the next morning and my wife loved it
I guess my grandpa had one of my uncles friends two tone it back in the 70's every time a new paint job went on no one removed the chrome so when I stripped down the body the white was still on there. thought it was cool I did something to it my grandpa had original added way back |

Re: 1957 chevy family truck
sorry Jbm1956 be meaning to text you but been busy with work and in laws in town, after applying a epoxy primer I sanded it with 320 and shot it. the inside is only a single stage but i'm going to do a 2 stage outside. I used a paint removal wheel by 3M that attached to my trusty harbor freight drill(one of few things I get from there that actually lasted) and sanded away some stuff I did by hand till my arms were soar. after a chat with the local paint supply shop he said I could get away with just epoxy since my body wasn't to tore up. was a few spots here and there plus metal replacement but i'm all about driving em daily so it wont be no trailer queen

Re: 1957 chevy family truck
if you cant tell yet I'm all about stripping it down to bare metal. always afraid of what's hiding underneath LOL so I jump the gun and bought my bed strips. I also ordered a outside visor but those things are on back ordered order from like 4 places so I guess i'll wait
