Re: Project Blue Goose
Thanks guys it was a lot of work to get to this point.
It's already to go sitting on the trailer. I can't stop taking pictures! I hope to be finished with the truck around Labor day of 2009 to be realistic. Last edited by nds1968; 02-17-2012 at 09:37 PM. |

Re: Project Blue Goose
Pulled the truck out on friday. Jumped started the C10 with my S10 then drove it around the block 2 miles. Its been over 2 years since I drove it. I can't wait for it to be back in one piece again.

Re: Project Blue Goose
Took the front clip off after I took it for a drive. My girl friend got tired of holding the bag of bolts and grabbed the ratchet from me. So I watched and held the bag of bolts.

Re: Project Blue Goose
Everything came apart pretty easy. There is some rust scale on the passenger inner fender but no holes. I have a new battery tray already for it. There is some rust through on the driver side inner fender where the support plate is. Looks like an easy fix for me though.
I'm going to have everything that is painted black sand blasted to make my job easy. Then I will repaint the pieces black before moving on to the sheet metal. Last edited by nds1968; 07-08-2008 at 07:55 PM. |

Re: Project Blue Goose
I'm happy that progress is being made once again. I left the truck drivable then I had to park her back in the garage once again.

Re: Project Blue Goose
Here is the rust I'm talking about on the inner fenders and battery tray. I have a new battery tray even though this one only needs a bottom. The inner fenders should be an easy fix.
Someone welded the rivet on the hood hinge. That's probably why the hood didn't fit well. I have another one from a previous truck if I can find it. |

Re: Project Blue Goose
Nice looking truck, like the color. Could I get the paint code, mine was the same color. Thinking of going back with it after seeing yours.

Re: Project Blue Goose
Thanks guys. The paint code is 507 on the SPID. I crossed it to PPG Deltron DBU 15004. Thats base coat, clear coat, but PPG does have a paint code for single stage also. They match the factory color pretty close.
This truck keeps me going when I need a boost. My truck is a fleetside and I'm going to run the steel wheels with the hubcaps for awhile. If I do buy wheels they will resemble these ones. But other than that it will look similar. I have chrome bumpers, bright aluminum peices for the front grill and the same mirror. Yes I'm tossing the western mirrors. |

Re: Project Blue Goose
Thanks for the comments. The bed is in Evans City and the cab and chassis is 90 miles north right now. I have some parts in my basement. No real progress since I took the front clip off.
I've bought some parts thought: NOS inner pass. fender NOS tailgate NOS 8" wide steel wheels (5 lug) NOS rocker panels (only needs it on the pass. side) Factory 4 speed tilt (recently rebuilt) Skinny beauty trim rings I can't start working on it again until after May. I'm working full time and going to night school 3 days a week.

Re: Project Blue Goose
I can't wait to see it done either. A new job, night school, and I've been preparing for my wedding next month has put it on the back burner. Oh yeah and I've been lazy also.
