Re: I lost everything to FIRE,,,,,

Sad STUFF!!, I can surely relate to your loss, We lost our home and contents to a fire in July '04. Had lived there 22yrs. and raised 3 kids in that house.... lots of picture and memories. Luckily, we weren't home but sadly, we lost THE BEST DOG IN THE WORLD.... still can't type that without cryin' a little. The firefighters were able to save my attached shop. The gas clothes dryer caused the fire. Careful with your insurance company, they're NOT your friend.

Re: I lost everything to FIRE,,,,,

I can't even begin to imagine what a person goes through after a loss like this. Especially the memories of your dad. I saw what fires can do countless times in Bastrop, Texas a small town 70 miles form here and it's still sad when you hear of these total destruction of mementos and accomplishments. My prayers are with you.

After you get over the shock, you can plan and build a better shop. It will work out.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: I lost everything to FIRE,,,,,

Thoughts and prayers go out to you and always remember that things for whatever reason happen for a reason, sometimes the absolute worse thing can happen and slowly something good can come out of it, I know nothing good can come from a fire and you'll never be able to replace family things but im sure you'll have a shop put up soon and be right back in the swing of things with a truck or two to tinker on and i bet your dad is proud

Re: I lost everything to FIRE,,,,,

Wow Donnie,
Just logged on and saw this. Can't add much that hasn't been said, but I know how decimated you must be. Shop and trucks can be replaced, but those thousands of memories will have to suffice. I remember visiting your shop, not long after buying my stepper, and thinking how cool all the stuff on the walls was.
.
I don't have many parts, but I'll be ready to help in any way I can. Hope insurance will, at least, get you back on the road. God Bless and keep the faith!

Re: I lost everything to FIRE,,,,,

Donnie, you are in my thoughts and prayers. On 12/26/1982 I was 13 and our house caught on fire (yes the day after Christmas). I lost almost everything that I had, if it was not burnt it was useless due to smoke damage. The only thing that I had was the bike that I got that year and that is because I went to my best friends house to spend the night. I was not home when it happened but my mom two brothers and sister was and thank God they got out ok. So with that said I know what you are going through and it is a bad thing that know one can describe unless they have been there. Thank God you and you family was ok and if need be call me @ 803-640-3926 if indeed you do want to come after or need some parts.

Re: I lost everything to FIRE,,,,,

Hang in there buddy, this forum is like a family and we are all sharing your pain. I would bet most everyone on here has put the same type of love and feelings into their trucks and the places that we work on them, so my heart certainly goes out to you.

The bright side is that your son's truck wasn't in there and so you and he can focus on that to start rebuilding.

Sorry for your loss.

I also have the fear of fire. I guess the best we can do in life is to make sure we are well insured and hope and pray for the best.

Even though you have lost irreplace-ables, I hope your new garage can be bigger and better than ever. I'm just glad to hear no one got hurt and you still have your house to go to.

Keep us posted.

Re: I lost everything to FIRE,,,,,

It hit me really odd when I looked at your last pic and then saw your signature "things happen for a reason". I do believe there is a master plan for all of us and it can be really hard to figure out why certain things happen. Your title says you lost everything. In time we learn that the most important things are probably still with us (family). My house I grew up in burned to the ground in '90. I can truly say I know how distructive fire is. SO SORRY for your loss. There is another chapter waiting for you though Donnie.
