I sure didn't! Thanks for pointing that out. I love the 67-72 "tahoe." Whack about 6" off the back and it would have the same propotions as a modern 'hoe.

Drop it with some torque thursts and you'd have a real head turner.

Re: Argentine bed

I don't like it. To utilitarian. Looks like a military vehicle and takes away from the clean lines of these trucks.

Re: Argentine bed

Their trucks look strange to us. Just think about how strange our trucks look to them. I'd imagine the Argentinians would marvel at our Cheyenne Supers and big block equipped stock trucks with full trim, etc. Thanks to GMCbsas once again for posting his pics.

Re: Argentine bed

I have a plan:
I`m going to drive a beater truck down there with a fresh ZZ4 V8 and good drivetrain.I`ll run off the road where it`ll roll onto it`s roof.I can`t drive it home, now.I will have no choice but to sell it for it`s drivetrain and I`ll buy a SUV,like that one that was shown, home.I`ll make someone happy with a ZZ4 and I`ll gain a rare short Tahoe-like 67-72 SUV.

Re: Argentine bed

I learned something new today. Went to Sydney Australia in September and saw some interesting Ute's (trucks) down there. The picture is a 4x4 Holden Ute. Most everything is right hand drive. Very neat pictures keep them coming.

^ Here's a link to a great thread:

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ight=argentina

LOTS of awesome pics.

I asked the 4th door question in post # 39, but don't think I got an answer.

There is also a truck that looks like the tahoe... check out the pics, you'll see it. I want one of both.

Never of thought of it that way.... so the first avalanches were actually from the 60's.... cool.

As a side note, I think the new avalanches are some of the best looking trucks on the road.

Re: Argentine bed

Special-K nailed it. These “strange” beds are not exclusive to Argentina. Mexico on south have strange stuff. Well, strange to us.

Here are two pictures of ’73-’87 US body style trucks that I took while in Mexico a few years ago. They both have ’67-’72 tail lights but the first has '81 and later door panals. Check out the machete next to the one. And, yes, I was nervous traveling through that neighborhood.

If you think that is weird, you should see what they have in Brazil (last two pictures). They have our ’73-’87 rigs wrapped with different sheetmetal all together that looks like an 80’s Ford F-series mated with an S-10. WTF was GM de Brazil smokin?

You can go to Ebay and click on Brazil and search for Chevrolet and dig up a bunch of oddities.

Re: Argentine bed

I may have missed it, but I didn't see where anyone noticed that their upper body line does not taper off in the rear. It is basically a straight line from front to back, where the upper body line on the US trucks starts to turn down in the rear.
