Re: more than one?

Here is my small collection of 3 . We have 3 kids and plan on handing them down to them some day. Our 69 GMC ( dad bought in 1970 ) , a 1979 10TH Anniversary Trans am I bought 32 years ago with about 46,000 miles and a 1915 Ford Model T which my wife bought me for my 40th b-day ( which I restored ) a 100 years old this year!! Also have a 1985 Kawasaki 900 Ninja I bought new. We all like to ride -- first 2 bikes are our sons , my ninja , and my wife's cruiser. I wish our summers were longer in Manitoba so I could drive them more

Re: more than one?

I been thinking about thinning down the herd but i don't know. I have too many projects, 75,86 cars 59,71,85,97 trucks, and wife's 67,02 all which i work on. Only one is almost finished the 75nova besides the dailys 97 and 02 which i just got done doing a cab corner in my 97 daily. I can't work on the projects for the daily drivers

Re: more than one?

I'm 22 years old and have the "problem" of too many already.
1979 K30 restored
1968 sb stepside all original runing and driving
1972 sb fleetside, junk body, sitting in shed
1980 k20 good shape need to finish interior, It sat for 8 years prior to me buyin
1983 K20 Runs, drives, plows snow.
1967 Mini T dune buggy, awaiting restoration, was my grandpas
2005 z71 crew cab Daily Driver.
I used to wonder why I have so many or how I ever came to love trucks that arent even popular with my age. I came to realize its the stories and the people I meet associated with them. Plus I really enjoy saving a piece of history that someone else may not appreciate.

As for rust prevention FLUID FILM works wonders

It's been quite a while since I've had more than one 'nice' ones. I'm down to just the one driver and one project, unless you count the '85 Jimmy, but that is being sold anyway

Re: more than one?

I now have two:
1952 1/2 ton (ground up restoration by me, added a/c, seat belts, sound system, front disk brakes)

1971 C10. Recently purchased. Going to keep it mostly a survivor and use it for what it is meant for.

Re: more than one?

52napco I wish you hadn't posted that pic of the bronze and white K2500. I have been on deal for a 62,000 mile K2500 that has always been parked inside. It's absolutely rust free, with original paint. I don't need it, but I sure want it.

I completely agree, many of my friends ask why I'm building a "PoS" beat to hell chevy truck instead of finding a decent late 90's early 00's car that runs decent and really its just the fact that these cars have so much character and they need to be rescued. That and the fact that it was free, i can build a SBC with my eyes closed and that i can fix it on the side of the road with having to have a scanner to tell me whats wrong. A 2001 Eclipse doesn't interest me as a rusted out beat to hell chevy truck does. And building it's part of the fun, you know you built it instead of someone at a plant. No offense Keith or other plant workers

Re: more than one?

Hey 68shortwide, I used to have people say, "You know, you could sell all these old trucks and buy a new one". I would say, "No,you could. I couldn't"

Thanks. I always liked them sitting at gas stations and repair shops. Usually pulled into a bay at night. Many were pride and joy calling cards sitting under the sign all day (when not in use). I ran one when I worked at a Sunoco in HS. I always wanted one and finally got that one. Unfortunately, had to sell it due to a poor financial situation. I'm just happy I got a chance to own one for a while. Never hauled a thing, but was a gas to drive...5.13 rear!

Re: more than one?

Just 3 for me.

Both my 1972 Chevy stepside 1/2 ton 2wd and my 1975 Pontiac Bonneville came from my parents. Dad bought the truck new and gave it to me at age 21 for not doing any sin habits (drinking, smoking, dipping, or doping). I still don't do those things.

I also got the Pontiac: dad took over the payments in 1976 when my uncle (who bought it new) died during cataract surgery. The Pontiac is a DREAM to drive and so is the truck. Both are up on blocks until I get them fixed.

The third is a 1976 Granville I bought for $100.00 in a NC junkyard. I got if for parts.....it was in terrible shape which is said since it had more options than my Bonneville. During my quest to find the keys, I happened to meet the original owner and he was indeed, a very sad and pathetic man, which I figured he'd have had to be to treat such a wonderful car so badly. I'll probably have it crushed this summer as it's in the way...I'll try to pull the last of useful parts from her. *It has a 400 V8 and I might try to get that out in case I ever need one.
