My engine adapter are not adjustable, that may be the next step if the DT coming don't work out.

Thanks for the info ChevyMax. If the Hooker Headers don't work I will have to dig deep into the loose change jar for the extra money for the DT headers. Again your build is looking good. Have a good night.

They look good on there. How did they fit around the CPP motor perches?
I tried the set of headers from a 69 Camaro, they didn't fit very good. Looks like I am going to have to buy that style. Are they long tube?

They just cleared, the are not long tube they are mid.

A little update on the build. My gas tank came in and got it put in. I gave the wiring a little break and decided to move the battery to the drivers side. I cut in a box in the inner fender near the core support. I'm going to run the cold air intake and filter to the passenger side where the factory battery was located. I finished up the metal work on the cab and bed sides going to ship the bed sides and the hood off to the body shop on Thursday. I wanted to take a few pictures but the camera battery was dead. Will try to post some pictures on Thursday morning, after work. I sold the old motor and trans yesterday so now have some extra money for new parts.

I was looking at different motor mount adapters and found that the ones that I used that were mark as for install the engine in the stock location (Transdapt Brand) moved the engine forward almost 2 inches. I found a set of Hooker Headers motor mount adapters that did put the engine in the stock location. About 2 inches back from the other brand.





This should help a little with headers fitting. It also gives me a little more room between the radiator and the water pump pulley.

Below is a couple of picture of where I move the battery to. My welding skills aren't as good as alot of people but the grinder will clean them up. I also posted a couple of pictures of the gas tank.







USPS dropped off some more parts the past couple of days. I delievered my bed side and the hood to a body guy today. Should have them back in a couple of weeks nice and straight and ready for some blocking and more priming.

Has anyone out there ever used Hot Rod Flatz paint? Wondering how it sprayed out? Hopoe everybody has a good night.

just checked your thread, awesome build. i love the ls motors and the are capable of some serious horsepower,since you have already cut down your inner fender that would be a great place for a turbo

Thanks for looking at the build. LS engines are a new adventure for me. Yea a turbo would look good right there.

Thanks for the checking out my build. I just looked at your post. Your truck looks outstanding. Very clean and detailed rebuild. The tire combination is great. Can you tell me what size wheels and tire them are? Also what air ride system did you use? How do you like that system? I was looking at a Ride Tech system but there quite expensive. Haven't posted much about the build, but I did got a few things done. I finished up the passanger side rocker and got it primed. I hung the door, inner and outer fender. I had to take off a couple of the braces off the inner fender to get it to line up. I starting to find out that this after market stuff doesn't line up very good. I have a little work to do on the door gaps as well. I finished the drive by wire pedal and got it mounted. I purchase a power window kit from AutoLoc and attempted to install it with no luck. The kit I bought was a universal kit for a flat window and I think I will return it or put it on E-Bay and buy a kit made for the truck.

I have been wanting to air bag the truck and I decided to do it know rather then when it painted. I ordered bags, brackets and fittings from AVS and a "C-Notch" kit from CPP. The bed and the hood should be back soon and will send the rest of the truck to the body shop after that.

Your truck build is looks great. It's neat that your using the 6 cylinder engine. I like the color of the motor. The air valves tht you have look nice and compact and a clean look set up. I may have to look into something like that when I'm ready to get mine. Again very neat build you have going there.

Jimmy thanks, Its been fun most of the time. The rocker panel on the passanger side was a son of b****. When you do your drivers side make sure the door is on before you do any welding. I learned the hard way. I didn't plan on the LS motor but the motor that came with the truck needed to be rebuilt so thats when I went with the LS engine. I didn't think I would cost this much more than rebuilding the engine that came with the truck. But I was wrong. The engine was cheap but everything else to make it work is the money issue. Those AFR heads you have are wonderful. I had a set of them on my 383 that was in my chevelle and those heads completely changed how the engine ran. It's crazy how much more they flow comparied to other heads. Your build looks good and keep up the good work.

I wanted an LS so bad, but couldn't justify the cost. For $500 more than the LS I got a whole LT1 C4.

The LS is SO worth it and your truck will love you for it.

Subscribed. Great build, I'm always amazed by guys, like yourself, that can take on so much of a build at one time and get things done. I'd be there for years trying to restore a chassis, body and install an LS drivetrain. Great job!

Notch1988, thanks for the kind words. It's been fun so for and very challenging at times. I like how your build is coming. Thats a nice setup that you got for your suspension. I was looking at that type before I went with the LS motor and now it has cost a lot extra then I thought it would. But I think the LS motor will pay off in the lone run. Have a good day.
