Re: Who makes these tail lights, very cool!

I agree they are not for everyones DD but they are for mine I like to be different and they have such a nice clean look to them. Just to clear up what people are asking about welding up. Here is a pic of what I will need to weld up on Low Buck in order to make these look their best. The lights come with a very nice CNC'd trim ring that is part of the lense, your stock tail lights do not have a trim ring on them it is on the body it self so having both might not look right and this is why they say to weld up the old ones. You do not need to weld anything to put them in as they bolt (screw) right to the stock bucket. The side markers are not yet available according to Mike at Musclerodz (he is a Vender of these parts).

Thanks for all the info that I was looking for!

Re: Who makes these tail lights, very cool!

I will re-clarify my statement to say factory factory trim holes if installed. No I would not bolt these to a $2500 beater either, but if you are building a high end truck, these are a got to have item. Still working on the led's. the company that is working with me to produce them can't seam to get a small enought led to go behind the bezel where the fit is tight. The other company that I would prefer to make them will cost 50% more to sell, but will be a 10x nicer product in the end.

Re: Who makes these tail lights, very cool!

I've looked at these before, but not very close. A closer look shows just how unique they are. I had wanted to french my taillights and backup lights, but these are super nice. The effect is what I like and may very well jump on. Heck, I'd save the cost of the new trim that surrounds the lights. I just gotta figure out how the tailgate trim will look without the light trim, OR just eliminate it altogether. It's a decision I gotta make soon.

I have some bulbs from Ledtronics that are super in my stock buckets. They have a 10mm stop LED, while the remaining 27 bulbs are smaller. They're super bright, and not cheap, but they fit in the taillight bucket without any problems.

I have a prototype board with the square flat leds and even it would require an extra gasket to clear the billet bezels and that is unacceptable to me at this point. I am not going to make a product with a built in flaw. The issue is clearance where the reflector part is. Not very deep at all. I am having another of my vendors send me a board I hope will work. We will see next week.

I paid more for these because the APC replacement bulbs would not fit into the socket and turn/lock. One did, one didn't. The Ledtronics bulbs have LED's that face the rear of the bulb as you look at it when it is installed. In addition, there is a row of them that encircle the outer portion of the bulb and shine perpendicular to the view you have from the installed position. That feature puts light out to the rear, and all the way around, making for a very bright light, especially when braking. When you go to the website, you will have options for views. But the replacement bulb for our usage is what I bought. As an aside, I bought the replacements for my '96 and while they are high quality bulbs, I am not as impressed with the 3157's as the 1157's, as an LED. They're good, no doubt, but they don't have the 10mm LED that the 1157's have, so the stop function isn't as bright.

But these bulbs will fit in the stock light bucket and clear the stock lenses. My bed is disassembled so I can't get any pix of them at night. Sorry.

Re: Who makes these tail lights, very cool!

Whoo, Hooo. Got my new tail lights installed last weekend. The weather was beautiful in my part of The Great White North and I even got the truck out for ride.

I have to tell a story about the customer service at MuscleRodz. When I received the first set of lights, the lenses were loose and would have rattled on the truck. I sent an email to Mike on Saturday to inform him of the problem. I received a reply before the weekend was out. He arranged shipment of a new set with Marquez on Monday and I had the replacements before the end of the week. The new set was perfect, I installed them and they look amazing.

A number of people on this thread have talked about how expensive these are but, let me tell you, if you have a nicely finished truck, these put the icing on the cake. They fit flush with the opening and look super clean.

Again, kudos to both Mike at MuscleRodz and Marquez Design for their top notch product and service.

Can you put the LED'S inside them like the factory ones? If so that would even better!
Your truck looks great as is but I have the clear tails with LED'S already.
I don't mind changing back to the red lens though just want to keep the LED'S.

I just have regular bulbs in mine. I can't see why you wouldn't be able to run LED's... The bezels mount just like the factory lenses would. MuscleRodz will probably chime in and let you know what your options are.
