Re: '72 C/10 Custom Cruiser Project

Finally got around to painting that bumper, it looks good for the time being. i also asked my mom if she could take some steel wool to my center caps and polish my trim rings, she started on the center caps, and the look like brand new!

Oh, and i went to prom too....

Re: '72 C/10 Custom Cruiser Project

Not much of an update, but one none the less
I decided to se if i could g bring some life back to that old paint. it came out pretty good, but its a good thing that i don't like shiny paint because im going to be tearing into it.

I also painted the rallies! They look great, not quite the grey i was going for but i still think they look great

Up in the Air

And... with the shiny trim rings and center caps! THANKS MOM!!

Re: '72 C/10 Custom Cruiser Project

Couple other things

Got a cup holder for the truck. its out of a 98 f**d taurus.
ahhh! f**d parts in a chevy!

I also got some speakers to put in too.. my step grandfather is a carpenter so he is making me some speaker boxes, just got to get a a better radio

Possibly this one

and a good friend of mine generously donated a ton of air ride parts to the truck... one step closer to LOW!

And a box for my flamethrower exhaust

Re: '72 C/10 Custom Cruiser Project

I need you guy's expert advice. im looking for a a set of cheap headers. can anyone recommend a set that will clear the frame rails? the cheaper the better, they dont have to be chrome

another thing, i know a guy that has some parts. he has 2 repro 68 fenders, a hood, core support, inner fender wells, doors; new and repro, rockers and a cowl. should i get the 68 stuff and convert my front clip? the front grill metal is expensive and so is the trim, and if not will the inner fender wells and rockers work on my 72, were they the same? i know the doors will work

Re: '72 C/10 Custom Cruiser Project

Update time.

Exhaust is the star of this one.

removed the old:

got some cheap headers wednesday, test fitted them, painted and installed them.

Then she went to the muffler shop to have some pipes put on. i had already bought the flowmaster 40s so they put in pipe form the collectors to the flows.

so as of right now the flows dump just before the rear axle because i'm swapping out the step bumper for a sport bumper and it will sit higher than the step, so once i receive the bumper ill bring her back to the muffler shop.

Heres a vid of what she sounds like now. (much louder in person.)

Re: '72 C/10 Custom Cruiser Project

I got up early today and finished sanding the bed. Cleaned it up and shot the primer. I still have more work to do on this side. some dents and imperfections but now i can clearly see them

I could have never done all this my self, this is my first time after all. i had a couple buddies of mine who have done this many times before. Thanks Tom and Denny!

I also got the shots of the bumper and Tailpipes. i think they came out great. Now i have to get a set of chrome tips.

Thanks, the air bags will probably be a future project, and it doesn't look like it will be in the near future
