Re: 60-66 Chevy And GMC 4X4's Gone Wild
NEVERENOUGH, its a factory 61 4x4. I robbed a 76 4x4 frame of the springs and spring hangers. The reason i did this was is you cant by a lift kit for a 60-66 4x4 truck. You can get springs made, but around here its not cheap. This way I can buy any 73-87 lift kit off the shelf and it will bolt on. I have a 73-87 4" lift kit on it now and it sits about 2 1/2 inches higher than a stock 60-66 4x4. So far as drive train it has a 283, 700r4, np 208 combo. Corp 10 bolts front and rear from an 89 blazer. It has 2.08 gears, trying to get 3.73 one day. Anything else you need to know just ask. Thanks for the compliment!

Any info on the yellow one? Would love to know if it is a factory 4x4 or on a later frame. These are getting me all fired up again mine has been on the back burner but hopefully soon.

I don't know any info on the yellow step side, it has been on Ebay a couple of times. Here is a 60-63 GMC suburban, any one know how to tell the year on the GMC's?

Oh yeah! NICE! That's the sh*t right there. WOW!
I traded a few emails with the owner of this truck awhile back, and he's got a whole herd of low milers. Not sure if he's a member here though. It goes to show that just when you think you've seen 'em all ... wrong! Last edited by oem4me; 05-01-2011 at 12:30 PM. |

Re: 60-66 Chevy And GMC 4X4's Gone Wild
Welcome to the forum
I don't know who this question is directed towards. If you have a stock '66 K series truck and it is not high enough for you, you will have to change all of the spring hangers and purchase new aftermarket springs in the lift height that you want. There are no aftermarket springs that will work with the stock spring hangers. If you want to go that route, I would suggest checking out. http://www.diy4x.com
