Next time save yourself a ton of work leaning over the fenders and pull it out in 1 piece . Then drop it off in one piece to the machine shop and let them handle all the grease work , not to mention saving yourself all the clean up and dealing with multiple pieces and loose hardware . The whole reason I got it was to do the break down myself, it is sort of a learning process for me. I will let the shop handle the cleaning and all that good stuff though. I will also be rebuilding it myself. But I will definitely take the advice of putting it back in the truck in 1 piece.

The block and crank are in the hands of Rick for cleaning/inspection. Pulling it out of the bed of the truck he could tell it was going to need to be bored quite a bit so I have that going for me so far -_-. Should know more Tuesday hopefully

Well it has been awhile since I have posted on this. The block is still with Rick (they are going through a transition stage at the shop) looks like it will be going 40 over on the bore. Got the new pistons and rings in the other day, went with Claimer performance pistons and some Wiseco Pro Tru hastings rings.

Then came some other news that really ruined all this for me. I got orders to PCS (permanent change of station) to Yokota Japan and I have to leave by the end of Aug this year. So with that being said I will not be able to finish the truck and will most likely be posting it for sale here on the forums and local online sale sites. =/

Well Chief, that is a definite bummer...

As a veteran from a more peaceful era, I want to thank you and your generation for your dedicated service to our country. A generation that has endured the longest period of continuous combat in our nation's history. And your recent orders make clear that your sacrifices are not yet over. The timing sure sucks!

I can only suggest that you find some quick way of getting your truck running again if at all possible, either with your engine, or another. A running, drivable truck will be worth more than your project. If you can't get your motor built in time, find a running small block anywhere you can, and drop it in there before selling.

I know those aren't great options, but I'm not sure what others you may have. Others may have some better ideas.
