Oh Man, now this is going to be a neat project!
What's the plan kid - is this going to be a haul around in the mud rig? Mac.

Re: Project High Life Light.
Nothing to big. I would like to end up with bigger tires, big fat bumpers, a few sets of kc lights, winch. So I guess the answer is yes. Something to pull the camper out and have fun truck. Something I'm not afraid to scratch up.

Re: Project High Life Light.
Outstanding, Sir!
Sometimes it's nice to have an extra truck like that just to kick around in. Please take plenty of picks and let us in on all of the tricks it takes to build a practical cow-trailing truck. Mac.

Re: Project High Life Light.
Got the raidiator out so I wouldn't end up with coolant all over the shop floor and moved the 4x4 in so I can start the tear down. I put it as far away from the 65 as it would go so it wouldn't get any yuck on the 65.

Re: Project High Life Light.
Thinking about it. I decided to leave the saddle bag in the 64. The only reason to do a saddle bag to the 65 would be for the room behind the seat. I'll probaly do something like that when I build up the 64 frame for the 65.

Re: Project High Life Light.
Man that's what I'm wanting to do on my 65 is put some tanks out of a 80s model truck on each side of the bed. At the risk of jacking your thread can you start a post about that install? Or post a link? I can't find any info on this site about guys installing saddle bags on a 60-66.

Re: Project High Life Light.
Haven't seen any. I think all it would be is bolt the brackets on, strap the tank down, find a place to put the filler neck. I don't know if you would have to put resistors in the gauge circut to get it to read right or not. I'll find out when I re wire the truck. I don't think it would be to hard.

Re: Project High Life Light.
Thanks for giving me the link Jason. I'll be keeping track. See what happens when you build a shop. You make more work for yourself.

Re: Project High Life Light.
Yep that's a good way to go. A shackle flip with some 56" springs in the rear, and some 52" springs up front and you've got a 4" lift for less $$ than a lift kit. Plus it'll likely ride better.
