Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
Have you been able to keep the overspray off your engine, suspension, and frame? If so, how did you do it? I'm worried that all my hard work on the chasis is going to go to waste when the painter gets a hold of it.

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
Thanks for the compliments all
As far as overspray. The firewall was painted before the cab was set on the frame. Any further painting will just require careful masking of the frame/eng/etc. to keep the overspray off. My bodyman is a close friend of my Dad-in-law and does some top notch work, so I am not too worried.

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
Well, I am getting tired of all the waiting around for paint, so I am thinking of bringing the truck home to my garage for everything else.
I plan to get the steering column mounted and hooked up, mount up the Booster and master cylinder and finish up the brakes. 2 fuel line connections and some wiring, and a quick trip to the exhaust shop should get me running, driving, and stopping. When I pick the truck up, I will prob drop the bed off with the body man, so maybe it can get some prep work while I do my stuff. Then maybe I can join the main truck back with the bed and get the paint done. Last to go in is the interior, and a set of wheels when money allows and hopefully I will have a nice truck to show and enjoy after all these years. Sure wish I knew body and paint. If I did, I would prob finish it all myself. Hope to post some progress pics within the next month. Stay tuned

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
Thanks for all the kind words everyone. Been waiting on the bodyman, so no progess yet. However, as I mentioned earlier, I hope to have her home for some forward progress soon.

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
FINALLY SOME PROGRESS
Here a few pics of recent progess, a little body work, more wiring run, brake booster/m/c mounted. Plan is to have the steering, wiring, brakes, and under hood paint work done in the next 3 weeks. Then some body work on the bed, and final prep for paint. Interior will be last. It has been a long time comming, but each step forward makes it all worthwhile.

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
Latest update pics.
Most of wiring is done, cooling fans in, radiator in, fuel lines hooked up and pressure regulator installed. Should be starting up soon, after front clip and cab are painted within the next week or 2, then off to the muffler shop. I have the Magnaflow stainless kit, but I need the muffler shop to bend up a couple sections of stainless to hook the headers to the kit. I just couldn't make the sections from the kit turn the way I needed without cutting them up.

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
It is a GM color called Arrival Blue. I will have to look up the paint code for you. GM started using it around 03. I got the code of a SS sliverado.

Re: BP68 Official Build Thread
She lives again!!!!!!!!!!!
Got her started up again today. Sounds mean with open headers, and has a nice lope. Trans fluid topped off, brakes bled, just need accelerator pedal and cable to drive down the street. And of course all the other fine details of assembly. I will try to post a video soon.
