This is the seat correct material from 1963. I believe 62 was the same but I have no documented proof. The Vinyl is called Hair Cell, it is a series of small dots like a shaved head. The seat frame and foam is original to the truck. I was lucky enough to find the end of a roll of the original fabric to have the seat redone. Not a great shot but to give you an idea of what it should look like from the factory

I just went out to pick up doors number 10 & 11 and there was a 63 cab sitting there with that exact seat and material in it.

LT1 Burb

Was it in good shape fabric wise? This fabric apparently broke down quite easily. Though there was a seat protector/cover as an option, the plastic kind did not help the situation as it would retain humidity in the fabric as well as bacteria and the seat would rot out faster. I was advised that if I ever found an original seat protector to install it only for show. Was the vinyl Fawn or Red?

The seat below is a factory deluxe seat from 1962. About a hundred thousand miles on this one, and it's in close to perfect shape. I can't explain how it lasted so well, but I can tell you when I got the truck in about 1998, it was completely flawless. I've been stupid and left the windows down in the rain, and basically just used it like the work truck it is, hence the light staining on the left side.

Only the painted grilles came with the black inset on the headlight bezels in 1963. Silver anodized aluminum grills did not.
You can see the Cameo White and Black inset behind the grille in the factory photos.

There was no hood ornament in 1963 and the grille guard was not available in chrome only painted.

The Deluxe dash came with the glovebox painted flat black and white as an option. The Chevrolet crest did not continue into 1963. I would say the dash is 1960-61?
Seems you could order a Tach and Vacuum in a C10 according to the Salesmans Data Book in 1963
Notice the interior door handle pointed down in the picture, seen this in a few factory shots.

Definitely a '60-'61 dash Aero
The giveaways: cable operated kick panel vents (not pictured are the diagonally slatted vent covers)
And the smaller face radio...unless mines been changed...(The knobs are the same distance apart, just the rectangle face is smaller)(this smaller style was also used on GMC models for '63).
And as you mentioned, the glovebox crest

Re: The 1960 - 1966 Chevrolet & GMC Pickups Factory Correct Restoration Thread

Found these GM NOS accessory mud flaps for dual wheel. "60-66" looked up the part number, referenced as for 20 to 40 series trucks. Maybe they were a '66 accessory, that is hand written on box? Instruction sheets date 5-4-65, their are 7 pages of them. The part number is 986734, Group 8.214.

I have to get to my storage locker where my long bed is and take pics of chalk marks and the ac stuff, both of the shortbeds weren't worthy of anything. Aero, the seat was fawn and thrashed.
