Well I have not been doing very good at getting work done on this frame. Some of the issue is wrong parts that I had ordered 2 months ago trying to be ready for when I got the frame back. Oh well just re-order and move forward I guess.

A good night last night after a little reaming I got my outer tie rod to fit my drop spindle. Got ALL my steering linkage in and rotors, calipers and rubber brake hoses installed. Rear differential is next. pix of progress

Last night I cleaned the rear differential and pulled all seals as well as the axle bearings and primered the housing. That Easy Off oven cleaner really does cut down on the amount of grease cleaning time,this thing was very thick with old grease and dirt.The ring and pinion(3.73 ratio) looks to be in really good shape so I think I am going use them, later I will install the posi carrier. I didn't snap any before pix, these are just after the Easy Off cleaning.

NEED SOME HELP PLEASE????? I just bought two front rubber brake hoses for a 1972 Chevy C-10. The left side hose fits like it should. The right side fits the caliper properly BUT!!!! the other side has a Larger fitting on it to accept a larger brake line fitting. Is this normal and I need to put a larger fitting on my brake line or is it the wrong brake hose??? Remember my truck is a 1968 that HAD drum brakes(converted to disc for a 72) on the front and I am using the original right side steel line(small fitting on both ends). I have ordered the same brake hose from 2 different companies and they both have the larger fitting. Can someone help?????

It sounds like you have the wrong hose for that side, just tell whom ever you got it from what the problem is and tell them the other side was the correct fitting size. I believe the 67-72's are 7/16 inverted flair fittings and the newer trucks are 5/16 inverted flair. I would believe someone put the wrong hose in the right box. EDIT: take them both back so you can show them the correct fitting size.

A little more progress. Chassis is up and rolling,brake lines run and fuel tank is in and lines for it ran also. On my brake hose---I just cut the line slid a larger fitting on, flared the line and hooked it up. I am ready to build my engine and drop it in next, then fit the cab on its new mounts.

Built a nice strong sbc, 700R4 trans with a dress up kit. It acually looks good sitting in the frame. Having a little trouble finding a direct bolt on SHORTY header. I tried the Chevelle header and it didn't fit so was thinking about the block hugger header. Would like some feedback on those, if i could get some. Next I am going to fit the cab and do a mock up. A/C is ready to get mounted. New steering column is ready to mount. Would really like to get some header info. THX guys for your help.

Somebody on this forum was selling a set about a month ago. I would try the search button and type sbc short headder and see if it comes up

Very nice build. Looks like you're off to a great start.

Block hugger headers will work if you mount the engine in the 6 cyl. (rear holes in the frame) position. If you are going to run a HEI ignition, the fit will be tight...but will work. Hope this helps your header situation.

Thanks guys. I also found out that there is an aftermarket engine stand and mounts that opens up the header possibilities. Will let you know how that goes.

Early classic sells a set of headers for 67-72 trucks.Great company.

Those are the headers that I have. The problem is the stock engine stands are too high and the header hits. I now have the CPP engine stands so I will mount them and let you know if they are the cure.

Well back to the drawing board---those engine stands made no difference. I will take another look at those headers from E.C.E. to see if they are the exact same as the headers I have(was told they where the same). Thx again for your help.
