As far as I know it is an all original truck, just hot rodded a little except for the 5 speed.

Re: Poll...Is your truck a numbers matching truck?

On the engine, I would vote no, but I’m not sure. My C-10’s original 327 was stolen and now has an
identical 327 from an unmolested GMC. Of course, the remainder of the truck was
composed of parts from dozens of trucks.

AprilFool, my parts truck, is bone stock sans a little added bondo over the years

Re: Poll...Is your truck a numbers matching truck?

Going for the 100 pt. restoration...even have the correct split rims on the build sheet and the original spare!!!! It is interesting to note that any dealer installed item, as long as it is documented, is perfectly fine in a 100 pt. restoration.

Original spare tire mounted up for S&G's.

Re: Poll...Is your truck a numbers matching truck?

This is surprising me that almost 50% of our trucks are still numbers matching. Considering the age of our trucks and the work that was required of them this is impressive.

Re: Poll...Is your truck a numbers matching truck?

Mine is not a numbers matching truck, But (my next project) is only a motor short of numbers matching. Trans is orig, rearend is orig, both match protect-o-plate, and I guess the orig motor is in the trunk of a car in a guys personal salvage yard (about 150 cars) about 60 miles South of me. So, we just need to get together an go popping trunks. The V1220YH will tell it all....

72BlckButy...I read your info on your LINK and you made a very good point. When we drive our trucks we are going back in history and we own a little bit of history. You have a very nice truck.

Thanks 70cst... I'm still in shock that I was able to locate such a rust free truck in the rust belt and only 22 miles from my door.

By the way, great thread!

Re: Poll...Is your truck a numbers matching truck?

I have 1970cst10 with original 350/th350, a/c cab, wood bed(rotten places, but original), original 4bbl Q-jet, and posi rear end. I have only updated steering wheel, and radio. The PO's paint job sucks, but I'm saving my nickels to fix that.

Re: Poll...Is your truck a numbers matching truck?

Mine's matching numbers and it's now a 383 stroker! I kept the original heads even though it's not helping my HP any. I wanted to keep the old school look and not change it much.
Now the question is should I re-stamp the code on the decked block?

Re: Poll...Is your truck a numbers matching truck?

Mine was and I drove it on the stock 350/350 combo for over a year..then my cam went flat on the #5 lobe and I tore it down to find some damaged bores. So i said screw it and found a real low milage original 1964 327 out of a corvette with only 65,000 original miles. Then once the truck was inoperable I drove the five speed mustang and prefer it so out comes the turbo350 to make way for a 3 speed with a floor shifter..
