Would y'all recommend the Petronix ignitior ?

Okay, I bought the petronix kit, how do I install it in the distributor and wire it through the distributor? I tried removing the wire grommet that the wire goes to the coil from the distributor but it won't come out...clueless

I found out how to install it, only thing I am awaiting is changing out distributors

Make sure BEFORE your remove it the engine is at #1 cylinder top dead center with the rotor pointing at the #1 wire connector on the cap. Take a picture or make a detailed drawing of the distributor orientation to the block, you do not want to be a tooth off when you reinstall the new distributor. Then follow the instructions listed above. DO NOT turn the engine over until the new dist. is installed.

Cheap insurance, do not forget to carry the old points and condenser in the truck just incase the module fails odd things happen at the most unpredictable time or place, murphys law.

We had to rip the thing that the coil wire goes to grommet to pieces to get it out of there.. Don't think points could ever go back in... oh well

It's just a grommet. You can get an assortment at any auto parts store.
Only Pertronix unit I've ever seen to fail in person was caused by leaving the key on with the engine off. You can burn up a points setup the same way.
