Just use a piece of 6" pipe. The bolt-in style notches cause too many fitment problems. They want to occupy the same space as the upper spring mounts...

any chance you could take some pics/measurements of how you mounted/lined up the front 2wd suspension crossmember? what you used to center on etc? use any factory holes or drilled all new ones?

When I get the front suspension im going to run mounted I will try to get some concrete measurements for a 4x to 2x swap....its info that others could find helpful. Right now I have a 72 front crossmember in but plan on replacing it with one from a 73-87 truck with 1 1/4 brakes....much cheaper to rebuild plus my buddy OJOE has access to the parts.

Got the floor roughed in today along with the front cab mounts...also got the firewall stuck back in position but was too worn out to put the doors back on to see if they fit yet...going to get the 87 front suspension stuff off truck tomorrow and get it steam cleaned so I can start on that soon. No pics today..The one piece floor without braces looks like its going to fit pretty well.

Im not sure how the floor with braces would work out....would be easier than cutting all the spot welds and also have fresh clean braces but I would imagine you would have to modify the back ends of the lateral braces.

To me it seems as this solid floorboard is a no-brainer. You would have to make a 90 degree bend at the cowl and also a 90 degree bend at the step up. Adds up to a lot less exposed welds and alot less cutting and fitting. Then just cut out the low hump and bolt in the high hump. I am probably over simplifying it, but if that part was available a year ago I would be done my project, or maybe not...

The only area that concerns me is the lower 'B' post area. There is a tricky little complex bend in the floorboard to step up area, but if you run your rocker backing plates long you should be able circumvent this problem area. Post up your progress as I am very curious of your out come...JMHO J.

If your existing lateral braces are in good shape, I say keep them, and use these to build off of.

The cowl is the same trucks/blazers. Im leaving a small strip in the rear to keep from having to deal with putting that flange in.

Got the front 2wd crossmember all bolted in, the only thing I havent gotten done is the idler arm drilled....I have measured and measured but still dont have placement right. If anyone has a suggestion for help I would love to hear it.
