With 20"OD wheels, the 3" blocks will get you easy drop.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Winter 19/20 66 C10 build

Xmas break has come and gone. 12 days off and i spent 10 of them in the garage.. got tons done and have established a new goals list for the truck as all were exceeded in 2019! Color is exactly what i wanted! I'm still out to pasture on the interior and trim color but it will come to me. Finished up the doors yesterday and will hang them this weekend. Steering, seats and console next.

Re: Winter 19/20 66 C10 build

Built a floor base to mount the seats and console. Seats are from a square body blazer and are the best seats for any classic upgrade as far as im concerned. The console is 67-72 and also is a good match for the styliyng . Ill have the seats recovered to match the interior color and theyll be good to go!

I also hung the doors to keep me inspired. Some odds and ends to finish up and then ill be pushing it aside to finish off my 57.

86 or 87 i believe, also came in some of the newer suburbans and such with a center console. Very hard to come by the shorty seats though, most are taller and have head rests.

I agree that they match... but they also came in early 87 and 86 4 door trucks, blazers and suburbans. Always with a center console.

I love the build. I have a "66 i will start building in the next couple weeks. Love the small back window! I just like the look, plus i want to install a roll cage that extends to the bed through the cab.

Re: Winter 19/20 66 C10 build

I saw a hood like this on someone's build on line and it was rendered by the same guy who did my renderings. Anyway, I was kinda bored and at a stand still on my build while I finished up my 57. My hood had a LOT of dents but no rust so I figured I would give it a shot and the worst case scenario I buy a new hood. I love it! and its coming together nice.

I like it! Seen several done this way & have also stashed the idea in my think-tank.

Re: Winter 19/20 66 C10 build

Baby Steps... its coming along slowly. Ive decide that when i pull the box I'm going to install bigger notches and redo the suspension, it just sits too high in the back. Motor, brakes, steering, ignition all ready to go. I finished up the hood, cut and buffed and installed. I matched the nickle color on the wheels and am working on grill and front bumper now. All trim will be painted to match the wheels.

Any pics of the hood bottom side? Curious on how you terminated the vents.

I bent 1/8 round bar and welded the sheet metal all the way around and molded it in. I wanted a rounded end to the opening. I also made templets and bucks so i could have the mesh screen inset towards the driver about 3/8" came out pretty good

Pretty much what I played out in my head. I figured using round tubing vs. solid bar though. I started looking around for ideas on removing under-hood heat for my BBC in the dually. It's harder to do than you'd think when your trying not to mess the 'lines' up.
