Any one have a picture of fuel pressure regulator on there 5.3 I'm not sure if I have one or not? What did you decide on a trans cooler?

if your fuel rail has 2 connections then the bigger one is the feed and the smaller is the return, that round thing on the rail is the FPR, if you only have 1 then you do not have a FPR on the rail.

OK, I got all the fittings, hoses and clamps to install the fuel system, except one. I am having a hard time finding one connection. The connection from the Walbro 255 fuel pump outlet. It looks like it has a back flow prevention valve on it. and if i put a hose and clamp on it, it will cover the holes. not sure what the problem would be, but i can't find a connetion for it. ANYONE have any advice?????

Well, It has been a minute since I have been on here. I have some updates. I have all the fuel system installed, transmission shaft was shortened an installed. All the wiring is installed, However it still needs to be cleaned up a bit. Electric fans and transmission cooler are installed. PCM is mounted AND It STARTS!!!! haven't left the garage yet, still need some gauges to monitor a few vitals, and exhaust installed. but here is the motor in its running condition.
I know the wiring needs to be cleaned up a bit and I need the covers for the intake and vave covers. But it RUNS, FINALLY |

As for the plates. I toke some cardboard stuck it to the block traced out the plate. Married it up to the motor mount, then cut it out with a plasma, drille the holes and bolted it all back up. For the other side I just flipped the templete. Pretty easy. I used a 1/4 inch steel plate. Hense the need for the plasma cutter. Thanks every everyone for the help and congrats. OK, I need some more help. I installed some universal 4 wire Bosch Oxygen sensors. the problem is I guessed at the wiring(attached). Well I actually used the diagram I got from LS1tech.com. The bosch 02 wires are: two white, one black and one grey.
However since then, my truck is running like crap. It seams to be in LIMP mode. The tranny acts like it is slipping in first and second on the top end of the RPM range right before it shifts. And I get a mild popping from the exhaust now. Has anyone installed these 02 sensors? How did you connect them? the engine is a 2007 classic silverado 5.3 with the 4L60E tranny. Now prior to the 02 sensors the tranny was strong and shifted fine, just since then has it gotten this way. |

Well I can offer some advise I did this swap in my 69' and when I wired it up I plugged the drivers side o2 sensor plugin onto the passenger side o2 sensor and didn't even know I swapped them around! Made it run like crap, miss firing under load and a flashing check engine light. You probably don't have this particular problem but just check your wiring. I'm sure your bosch o2's are fine. Scan the computer for codes and let us know what comes up.

Just drove 480 Miles in my new 5.3 swap and it drove great. I have realized now that my suspension is not up to par with the horsepower and torque the new engine puts out. That's the next project. All this and I got 20 mpg!!!! It did drop to around 17 mpg but I was fighting a 25 mph head wind and had my 750 pound Harley Street Glide in the bed of the truck.

I'm running 3.72's in my 12 bolt rearend. and it runs fine. fairly stout in the low end and great highway cruising. Definatly not drag raceing ratio by any means. but great for everyday drivers.
