The blue K20 flatbed will remain, as is, because I like the "Tow Mater" look. I am going to put factory body molding on the red K10. I think they look better with this fit-up. Lee and I are getting really close to having his red/white K10 done. We need to hang the front tin, install the exhaust and the windshield, along with some punch lists items and it will be ready to roll out of the shop for the first time in over two years. Thanks for following our progress. |

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.
I wish I could keep everything I ever owned.I sold that back in`81.There was a real nice navy blue 3/4t GMC w/V6 and big tires that ran the 1st Flagstaff mud bog when I lived there. He had the same tires as me.I ran a`69 Dodge Power Wagon I had.Neither made it far/There was a big hard center,so it was either high-center or get slammed into the side. That thing was a total pit.Guys were breaking up some nice vintage stuff.I took some slides of that.I wonder how to get them on a computer.
I tryed loading that discinto Picasa. There`s 1,500 car and truck pictures. The thimbnails were too small to see.I don`t want to load all them.I`ll get it figured out how to load one at a time.

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.
Special-K, Thanks for the pictures. I can also build up my 60-66 4x4 picture collection. You brought back some memories when you talked about the flagstaff mud bog. I think I was there but not sure if it was the first one. It was the bog that the monster truck Cyclops from Tucson climbed over some cars for the first time, this was the start of the monster truck trend. Do you remember that truck? I think it was a 1968 chevy C60 cab and a long bed with tall narrow wheels and duals on the rear. Here are some more, keep yours coming.

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.
slick65, Glad to see you made it over here. Can't wait till you go digital and post some clear pics of your truck now and when it is finished, it looks like it's going to be a tight looking truck. I also like your buddy's suburban. Did you see my '65 big window in the 1st post? There are not many 60-66 4x4's in Arizona. Here are some more pics.

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.
I remember the Cyclops. It was white,I think and was the first C-40 or heavier sheetmetal I ever saw with a pickup bed.It wasn`t at the one I went to.The Arizona Sidewinder was there. It was about a`76 Ford painted yellow.Yeah, that was early in the monster truck days. The Sidewinder just had tall tractor tires and everyone was all up and under that thing amazed with it.He was the only one to make it through the bog.
I wonder if that "Crusher" truck is the former Skoal Bandit (or Copenhagen sumthin or udder)that Golden State Pickups ran.It sure looks like the same paint scheme.Merideth Doulton.Seth`s wife, ran that thing.Man,what a woman!!!They had another truck that was a 55-57.I think that was the Skoal truck. Some others I have:

Special-K, I was gone for a few days. The crusher truck was the skoal bandit.
From what I understand this truck and the 55-57 are in Japan being used as show trucks. That is a nice truck posted by orange72blazer. Here are some more. |
