Way koooooolll! I can't believe everyone is calling that ugly, . I think a stepper bed would look great. I'm still thinking about doing that to mine. Here's a link to some more crewcabs and extended cabs.

It's interesting that one side window is bigger than the other side.

Re: Rarest 67-72, not the most desirable however

The window in the door on the right side is smaller due to the added door frame.

Re: Rarest 67-72, not the most desirable however

GM typically sent out their pickups to a conversion company before 1973. I doubt if a slide in camper would even fit the cut down shortbed. Looks like they should have stretched the frame at the same time.

fine69...It is hard to picture the finished product. But once the bed and paint is applied your truck will rock. Hey...I see you live in the Urbana area. I may have to stop in for a closer look. That is a rare bird. You are lucky to get your truck back. Most times one lets go of one it is very difficult to get it back. I get over your way about once a month soooooooooo...

Re: Rarest 67-72, not the most desirable however

It was done by a conversion company in Oklahoma. Cant recall the name right now.
I am sure another board member knows the name and will chime in.

I am 100% sure it had a camper in it. The extra long bumper that it had on the back confirmed that.

Re: Rarest 67-72, not the most desirable however

I may be wrong, but I think GM did these for a contract to Argentina. I've seen these before, and heard people call em "Argentina trucks".

I don't think thats an Argentina truck. This one has all the american truck cues... normal tail lights, MPH speedo, side markers... it's all normal truck except the converson.
These pics are from a board member that lives in Argentina. Notice the small oddities like the badge on the blue truck, the lack of markers and general funny look of the bed.

Re: Rarest 67-72, not the most desirable however

Saw a Chev truck special order book one time with a picture of a truck like this. There are a few extended cab 67-72 trucks around--all conversions to a stock unit by a 3rd party for GM. Usually in Mining, logging or Rail road applications. I think Dodge was the first to offer a factory production extended cab pickup that was designed from scratch and looked correct. Huck

Glad you were able to get it back(wish i could be that lucky) Goodluck with your build up. It is a cool looking truck for what it was built for..

Glad you got it back. I had forgotten you had sold it. I figured it just hid in the back-40 for a while as you took care of other projects.

Can't wait to see it's progress.
