Do you have any pics of how your mounts turned out?
I don't know how yours fit like that, but I had to trim the frame rails a bit for the mounts to sit flush.

Re: Finally my build thread is here! Lots of pics!

sweet, thx for the pics, looks just like mine. they are holding strong for you? .. Unfortunately, on the drivers side I screwed up and measured the wrong section so I took a much larger chunk of metal than I should have to get it right.. got the other side right tho.. someday I'll learn, measure twice, cut once!

Re: Finally my build thread is here! Lots of pics!

Got the rear disc brakes on today! Also got the braided lines up front put on..

I got the kit from CPP. I had to do a little grinding on the caliper and bracket to get everything to fit properly. The outside brake pads were waaaaay too tight against the rotors, so I had to grind down the mating surfaces of the calipers and brackets to bring them out a little.. The passenger side is still a little tight, but I think I'm ok with it for now.

I feel you on that one. Should I pay a bill, or buy more parts?

Sorry to mention this but i had the same motor to frame brackets and i contimplated cutting my frame to fit them like you did. Anyway i went to cpp in ca and bought new ones and they fit my frame without cuttin.. Also they fit in the forward holes to accomidate the hei distributor.Looks like you allready did the work, so if you would like to see mine let me know or............

Hey Danny, I would definitely love to see some pics of your motor mounts.. I would have rather not cut the frame had I known about CPP's fitting well... thanks!

I read the CPP mounts might interfere w/some header configurations so it's worth searching for that info (might have been Alans build thread).

I used the POL mounts on my 68 (sbc, 700r4, Headman 3/4 length headers for a f-body). Fit was good.... My buddy has them now on his 72 Blazer & we did have to trim the rails slightly.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Finally my build thread is here! Lots of pics!

Alright well I just found a good deal on eBay for a set of the CPP engine mounts, so I bought them. I will compare the two sets and see the pros/cons of each and which I'll end up going with and let you guys know..

Good point about the headers too, I'll make sure I watch out for that..

Re: Finally my build thread is here! Lots of pics!

I also went ahead and picked up some CPP motor mounts to see how they compared to the POL ones I currently have installed.. So far they looks A LOT better, stronger and more heavy duty. I think I'm going to paint them black and replaced the POL mounts this weekend too.. .. I wished I hadn't notched the frame for the POL mounts as these will fit fine with out nothing, UGH! Oh well, they are small notches, but still.. UGH!
