Re: 1972 Super Cheyenne K10 SWB 4x4

I have a couple questions if anyone is watching this thread. I got the original dog dish style chrome or aluminum hub caps with black accent and blue bow tie. Did these come on 16 steel factory wheels? My spid says 6.50 x 16 PR ON/O. Something to that effect.

Also bottom right hand corner of spid sheet has a order number. Was this truck a special order truck?

Very nice ride and great find. Congrats. As you can see I'm partial to the SWB 4X4's too. What size tires are on the rallies now? Love it.

Re: 1972 Super Cheyenne K10 SWB 4x4

BTW, here's my '70 K10 with new Skyjacker 3" lift and powder coated rallies. I have to finish up the center caps and install the new 3" trim rings. Tires are 33x12.5x15's. I also have some 15X8 steelies that I'm going to have powder coated white to use with stock hub caps. Because I just can't decide.

Re: 1972 Super Cheyenne K10 SWB 4x4

Very nice truck derotoreut. Currently the previous owner has put 33x9.50. I would like to sell these tires, buy some a little wider. But I think I am going to redo rally's put new tires on and redo a set of the original 16 steel wheels white and put the original super hub caps on them with some new tires. I can't decide ethier. I like both sets, but my pocket book doesn't like the idea. May just get rims gathered up and wait and find a deal on Craigslist or something.

I made a little head way first for the first part of the week. Got the old slider back glass out and replaced with factory tint glass and put back in.

Re: 1972 Super Cheyenne K10 SWB 4x4

Tilt steering column showed up, maybe I can get it put in this weekend. Now I need to decide if I am going to use factory wheel or get a three spoke Cushin grip camaro or corvette steering wheel. Having hard time trying to decide.

Very nice truck. There is one like yours, a '72 4X4 Cheyenne Super, that is parked in an old guys driveway and has been for years in Santa Maria, he comes out and washes it from time to time. It is that lighter green color, almost a lime color. I am afraid to ask him if he is interested in selling it because he might say yes! Keep us posted on your progress, that was a nice find.

Well, I have a couple of new items changed out. I put original antenna today and got rid of the little mini truck aftermarket antenna. Plus I got my original bumper guards put on.

Re: 1972 Super Cheyenne K10 SWB 4x4

So now I need to find some factory tow hooks. Does anyone have any at a fair price?

Hopefully next weekend I will get my factory floor shift tilt column put it. Steering wheel didn't show up in time to do it this weekend.

Next project is to get speed warning tach dash put in. Maybe get A/C working this week. Put new belts on and the compressor is working, its low on freon. Get some r12 put in it and see what happens.

Nice - I recently installed one that Kevin did for me - he did a great job. What color is your column?
