Re: Project Murphy's Law
Thanks Tom, wish I had your motor! This project is now my DD again. My guess is 10-14 mph Looking at a FAST self learning tbi kit for right after the new year. Just did the parking brake mod, replaced the defrost ducts and dug out the courtesy light harness I have. Using it daily has kinda built a fire under me to get some of the little things done. Next: clean and paint to buddy bucket storage box and frame before the seats get back, then get floorboards and rockers replaced.

Thanks for the compliments. Heavy, the steering wheel was a direct fit GM piece.

Re: Project Murphy's Law
yes it's a blazer half cab. Not sure what a swb wheel base is but a blazer is 104". With the 454 and the 4 speed it's like a go cart!

Re: Project Murphy's Law
The seat cover company is local too and they do great work. Is the guy fair in his prices and work? I need a seat or 2 done and have been looking around.

Re: Project Murphy's Law
Finally an update. Wife gave me the green light to buy the EZ EFI for my
40th bday. So took my time and did the install over the weekend. Well ya dont wanna just put it on without some other goodies, and we all know how things snowball. So I put a Performer intake on it and a MSD E curve dizzy. Then I didn't want the throttle body or fuel rails to heat sink so I figured some thermal line covers, 1 inch carb spacer and a heat shield would help. Overkill? yes, but after the vapor lock episodes from last summer I am opposed to being stranded in the desert when it's 114 outside Ran the lines on the outside of the frame to keep them away from the exhaust heat and had to fab up a external fuel pump mount and stone shield. The directions said 3-4 hours for install, ya right. Fires up and idles smooth So easy a caveman could do it. Put the first tank of gas in in yesterday, sinces this is my DD we'll see how it does an the mpg. Next, a new radiator and hopefully a new brake master/booster set up so I can get the firewall painted. Last edited by SOON2BLAZE; 03-09-2011 at 01:32 PM. Reason: pichers |
