Sorry Russell, I never had one. I feel your pain though, I couldn't find a computer for nothing. I did however get the 7749 from here: http://tpiparts.net/82_92_ecm_and_prom At $55 I figured it was resonable.

Ok, I must be on a roll. I got in the garage last night and pulled the fuel rails off and disassembled the lower intake to get it cleaned. I also got the pics of the blasted upper pieces.

I found a 730 last night for 30 bucks shipped to my door

The auction was at 15 bucks, with 22.99 for shipping. I told the guy I'd buy it for 30 shipped, and send him the cash right after he emailed me, he agreed

What media are you blasting the aluminum pieces with? I have a sandblaster and an aluminum intake I want to clean up, but glass media seems kind of expensive to let fall into the grass by my house.

I blasted the upper pieces with sand. I am sending the lower intake to be dipped. Once it is clean I will blast it with the same sand.

It isn't sand from a sandbox, it is medium or fine sand.

I get it from an Abrasives supply shop. This one is listed in San Antonio, TX and they list media. http://www.andersonsalesinc.com/ The last 100lb bag I got cost $55.

I think there is a BMC West in san antonio. They have the fine sandblasting sand. I think the 100 lb bag was like 6 dollars, whatever the cost it was really cheap...

Weird. I have never heard of them. They are in New Braunfels, which is just up the road. I'll have to give them a call.

Don't forget to use a respirator when sand blasting....

Also, do it on a cooler day so you can wear and old leather jacket, and wear a pair of clear swimming goggles along with the respirator, and a cut down face sheild. When that sand hits your face, it hurts! I had a million little scabs on my entire face where the mask or goggles didn't protect me, lol

Also, expect to be pulling sand outta your ears hair and just about any other crevace you don't even know you have for a couple days afterwards, lol

I have been sandblasting stuff off and on for over 20 years, so I am quite familiar with the list of places the sand can end up. It is worse than a day at the beach.

I have just never used it on aluminum before, so I had to ask a few questions.

Update for the weekend. The lower intake is now sandblasted and I played around and mocked up all of the cleaned pieces. I am still mapping out the wiring in my spare time. The original Pinout sheet I had was different than another one I found so I am going through all the wires now.

It looks WAY better than it did before I took it apart. It was white when I got it.
