My Jacob's ignition kit came with a built in anti-theft product. A micro switch interrupts the ground to the computer and must be reset within 8 seconds of every start. I've hidden the switch quite well and have (on a few occasions) missed the switch after I get the truck started. It also has a "valet setting" which allows two minutes of operation and then interrupts the ground.

I use a brakelock. Turn the key, hit the pedal. If you want it, you have to drag it. It isn't going to roll anywhere.

my current idea (still in planning stage) is to hook a taser gun (with the 15 foot leads and the prongs) up to a circut on the door. probably a magnet setup where the 2 magnets are pulled apart the circut breaks. have two tasers aimed across the cab so it will shock the hell out of the person who broke in to the car.

another idea is a spring loaded steel bar under the cab that will swing out breaking the persons legs. this idea originates form south africa where carjackings are a massive problem and many people equip their cars with these and a lever in the passenger compartment to release the steel bar when the carjacker comes up next to the car.

A sledge hammer and a case of Krylon paint of your choice. Take the hammer and put dents all through out the hood, cab, doors and bed. Next take the Krylon paint and color in the dents (brighter the color the better theft deterent). After you get done no one will want it. Just a suggestion.

my truck is pretty ugly so i'm sure no one would want to steal it. however, i do have a cd player and cd's inside, so i lock my doors. if i have to park it in a questionable area for a long time (haven't had to yet) i will remove the cd player faceplate, the cd's, lock my doors, and leave my transfer case shifter in neutral. that way unless they know the rockwell's shift pattern, they won't be able to figure it out for a few seconds at least.

what, if any, anti-theft devices do you all use?
After reading all the other posts, I really feel out of touch! I never lock my truck. At least I don't leave the keys in the ignition, like I always used to. Well, I forgot and left 'em in several weeks ago over the weekend..... Needless to say, no anti-theft devices. Ah, life in the boonies!
