Re: Sat pics (5-3) Valley trucks! (Check em out!)

My hat's off to Asa who was kind enough to take pictures of both my truck, (the black '72) and Ronnie Loyds extensively detailed '72 while at the All Chevy/GMC Nationals in Maggie Valley. Asa, you did a bang up job with the pictures, and I can't express my sorrow enough for the rock that jumped into your truck. Ronnie and I both feel very bad that the damage was sustained for our benefit. Hope their is a way we can make it up to you. We are both very, very new at the truck scene, but are very excited about it and the extemely nice folks we have encountered already. As far as the plates on both trucks, they are not vanitly plates. The low numbers were originaly saved for public officials. Among collectors, these are the most expensive and hardest to come by. Thanks again Asa, the pictures are fantastic. Better than I expected thats for sure. neatoldstuff

Re: Sat pics (5-3) Valley trucks! (Check em out!)

David, I'm glad you liked the pics! Do you know if Ronnie has got to see them yet? I was going to show you the full sized images on my laptop Sunday but I think you left about the time I rolled in. I'll be sending both of you an email shortly so we can get together about getting these pics to you. I really enjoyed shooting them aside from the rock maneuver! Every time I've had to move the truck around in a tight spot since then I've been paranoid of it happening again.

David, welcome to the board. There's a great group of guys on here who are extremely knowledgable about these old trucks. I was stationed in Va Bch from 97-00. There sure are a lot of car guys around there. I used to hang around with Tommy Potter, George Bess, Barry Rowe and James Wynne just to name a few. James painted my 35 5 window Coupe for me (indigo blue with suicide doors). I then sold it and bought a red 34 FORDOR Sedan that I drove daily. Take care,

Rob

Asa's not wasting any time.... the repairs look good.

neatoldstuff, welcome to the board. Your truck is amazing and an excellent example of a classic truck. Anyway we can get more pics of your truck? Exterior, interior, engine, and specs (drop/wheels/tires...) Sorry we're picture and info junkies.

Hey Neatoldstuff
Nice neat old truck. 72 blckbuty said it best. He is thinking the same Questions that i am. I have been planning to build the same truck. Black super 402. Even the wheels are on my top three list. Curious wheels, back space, size, tire size etc. What drop are you running. I have been stuck between Black, Red or Red and White. Your truck has helped me make up my mind.
NICE TRUCK.

Thanks for the compliments, I appreciate it. I owe a lot to see ten for making it look better than it does. He's an excellent photographer and a good person as well. If you will be good enough to send your questions to: neatoldstuff@cox.net, I will provide you with all the information and answer all questions. Again, thanks. I know what you mean! I am really wanting to paint something that color blue with a white top.

BTW, while we are on the subject, so that the factory light blue paint color? My '69 beater truck came light blue and it looks similiarb on the inside.

Asa never stop taking great pics, even after his truck had a run in with a rock, and while it's being repaired.

Re: Sat pics (5-3) Valley trucks! (Check em out!)

Tony, those aren't Justin's lights.....It's the Early Classic truck, so it's running Early Classic lights.

Travis, I'm pretty sure I missed that shot (sorry) I didn't realize it was you and what you were doing until after the fact. I just knew that there was a car with flashing blue lights behind you and I was hanging out a drivers side window taking pics. I didn't want to be the one guy who got pulled out of the whole cruise and ticketed.

I did manage to get the C10 dropped off for paint today! It's going to get ugly. I could replace the fender cheaper than I can have this one repaired but then I would end up having to blend paint up the hood, cowl and the door. If the truck had fresh paint I could proably just swap the fender and not worry about having to blend it, but this paint is about 11 years old. I guess this will be my reminder to pay better attention to my surroundings.
