Thumbs up Re: Suburban K20 1986 Silverado

Nice suburban- I have two myself not as rust free though as your's.
I planning to paint one of them in blood red as this beauti.
I understand why import one from the CA.Rust free and the fact that it is a rare truck here, everything here in the EU when it comes to trucks has to be small and useless for me anyway Of course semi trucks huals majority of goods but for a house owner or country residents suburban fills all the needs. It is a daily used work horse.

Re: Suburban K20 1986 Silverado

wanted to change the rear too for LED versions.

tried these:
1157 bulb with 60 SMD's.

the difference between normal taillight and brake or signal is almost un-noticable.

check these videos from 2nite.

normal bulb 5W/21W

then the 60SMD Led version: no reflector

then the 60SMD Led version with red reflector:

too bad they didnt bring the result I wanted. changed back to the orignal bulbs again....

- painted inside glossy white.
- added 5 strips of 3 SMDs attached them to the original bulb connections.

I like it....can I give you a pointer?....You might want to make a heat shield for that fuel cell. Looks too close to the exhaust. Your baby is really cute....hate to see the child hurt from a bad mod design.

Re: Suburban K20 1986 Silverado

connected the sender from my LPG tank to my regular gasgauge.

closed the dash again.

the new Tach is bottom left. And my LPG tank seems to have the same sender (0-90ohm) as my original gastank, because I just filled her up and she now also shows F (full).

now these lights dont work anymore :
- high beam
- handbrake
- 4WD

well, thats for next weekend.

Re: Suburban K20 1986 Silverado

got the electric fan setup done and it looks pretty fine.

and finally, my engine gets up to operating temperature. It hadnt gotten above 150F for over a year now! main reason...damn Flexfan! took it off, replaced it with an electric fan and voila..engine heats up nice and quick and when the fan hits 200F, it cools down within 1 or 2 minutes to 185F.

only thing left is to attach a LED parellel to the electric fan, so I can see on my dash if the fan is running or not...thanks for the tip Gchemist

you can see how I build it a couple of posts back.

I used 12mm MDF, wooden rings, stretched t-shirt over it, epoxied it, then applied 200gr/m2 glasfibre and expoxied that again...used some body filler and then glued the lepardskin over it....came out pretty cool for my first custom door panel build.
