I am going to be getting some video of some of my rebuild as well, in which I will post up on my you tube channel, when I do I will be putting up a link so it can be found.
being as I don't have to work today, I only have 1 meeting on my schedule, I will be posting my pictures later today so every one can see where I am at. Again thank you all for the comments and advise, and jokes.

I kinda hope, I know i treat my stuff like its a part of me, I don't allow steangers to touch me, why should i allow them to touch my truck.
Lol, I am not trying to put honest people out of work, but i know shops don't all the tie give a run down of what they do, if people learn how to take care of stuff then business lose out, but that's what made America strong, people doing things. got a call from my other job yesterday, so I didn't get to post, so here are some of my pics.
1. these small bolt/nuts I replaced due to the old bolts vibrated out so I made sure these wouldn't. 2. I had just removed the three (3) bolts (TH350) connecting my flywheel to my Torque converter, I was able to rotate the converter with one finger so I know know that after I rebuild, I should be able to still rotate this easily. 3. The modulator after I just removed the vacuum hose. 4. a shot of the worn down transmission fluid return line. I found that if I use reinforced hose that allows for some flexibility of routing, but I want to keep it as straight as possible to keep the fluid dynamics flowing good, and keep resistance to a minimum. I may look into bending my own tube to a custom route, because I will be installing a specific transmission inter cooler in line after going through the radiator cooler. 5. a look at the bottom of the transmission with the pan removed, the filter clearly visible, after I drained the pan for the second time getting the rest of the fluid out I am still finding parts of the friction gaskets, and such in the bottom of the pan, as well as alot of thick burn fluid just hanging around the bottom of the pan as well. I will get this cleaned out and looking real nice and get a layer of like undercoating on the pan so it don't rust and I am going to make a skid plate for protection of the underneath of the transmission. As soon as possible, I am also going to be getting new mounts, and other bushings for everything that the trans oil wore down.

One word of advice. Clean!!!!! You must get everything spotless before going back toghther. Auto trans need to be clean when reassembling.
Ok maybe more than one word. Most of the tools on the list probably won't be needed. You will need a spring compressor for the low reverse return springs and one for the foward and direct drums. You can get a couple of large hose clamps to align the 2 pump halves. If you dont feel comfortable dropping the pump back in get a couple of long bolts and cut the heads off to use for alignment dowels. You can do the same for the valve body.

Be careful with lint from towels. They can wreak havoc on a rebuild. I also dip everything in some clean transmission oil before reassembling.

Oh yea, i would never use old trans fluid to lube new parts, theres still crap in it that filtering cant get out.
I was thinking about like chamois to do a finishing wipe down before install unless someone found a better alternative. Posted via Mobile Device

k10 that is a good book I have that one in my library, some of the tools you can make yourself, front pump puller, 2-3" bolts with the same threads as the valve body with the hex head cutoff works to help guide the valve body gaskets plate, and valve body into place, same guide bolts can be used to set the front pump into place
for a pump puller I have a slide hammer with a bolt that threads into the pump itself, if you look closely there will be 2 threaded holes in the pump, at 11 and 4 o'clock if memory serves me right, correct snap ring pliers make it nice, snapon 350 snap ring pliers, I think blue point makes a pair too, search it online, myself I have used an ice pick and screwdriver on the snap rings, please do not try to remove the snap rings out of the piston without it being compressed,

I do have like 10-15 pair of different type of snap ring pliers, i would try to remove those incorrectly.

yes they have, my spring compressor is a homemade one with a foot pedal I love it better the any snapoff one, it's made out of an old box stapler, it is floor mounted
best word of advice, take your time, think it through, and if it doesn't feel right double check it,

With the concrete feeling like a frying pan, i have been reading my manuals, and got my upper and lower trans mounts ordered, so I can compare and make sure it fits like a glove.

Don't undercoat your pan. Not only will it be a PITA to get off and clean next time, the undercoating will hold in heat. A coat of paint, engine black works good, is all you need. I like to do that after it's put on, that way the bolts get some and it all looks pretty.If you want ot drop some coin stainless bolts are good on the pan... and polished stainless - well, now it's a show car!

I am new to the site and have been watching your rebuild I am in Lakewood Co. so I know how hot is has been havn't been getting much done on mine either. I have a 77 k10 with a rebuilt 350 but need to rebuild one for my 62 cant wait to see your progress
