Re: My 1974 K5

I have the AC/Heat part with brand new blower motor . he took it out and cut the AC side off ???? I am going to get all used AC parts and heater parts from my father in laws , 76 chevy pick up . ( they look the same ) he is going to crush it soon . FULL AC system , and MY K5 was a factory Ac truck . So that should work out NICE !! and FREE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: My 1974 K5

How do I get that nasty looking coating off ? The frame looks really good !!! Only surface rust , nothing flaking , no holes in frame , just very very mild rust for a 74 . The coating stuff looks like rust but its not . We have crawled all over the under side of this thing !! It looks GOOD . I have seen MORE bottom , than I have seen the top side

More parts today !
All new parking brake cables
more bushing and bearings
got every tie rod end know to man
Stainless brake lines going on
Slowly coming together .................

Re: My 1974 K5

I used a pressure washer on mine. It took several hours going stem to stern to get it all clean but it turned out nice.

Re: My 1974 K5

I am very interested in your take on the Raptor lining. Please take several pictures of the process and explain your experience. Also could you share how much of the truck you are going to apply the Raptor Lining to as well as how many bottles it will take? Truck is looking good so far.

Re: My 1974 K5

THANKS !!
My buddy is dealer and doing it for me . We are trading work ! I graded his lot , moved some stuff around with tractor . So no charge. I will ask how much to do it ( how many gallons ) . He sprays it on with gun . I will take pics , but he is doing the floor ft to back , homemade wooden walls , everything inside the door seals , outside the door seals will be painted .

Nice work! The seats look great. Seems like tan will match most any outside color.

Re: My 1974 K5

Just to clarify are you going to have the truck Rhino lined or Raptor lined? Rhino being the professionally done job and Raptor being the more Do It Yourself job.
