In case you haven't already done it..
When I bought the kit I used a small box end wrench that just fit over the tube and slid it down to the ridge. I then tapped on the wrench so as not to bugger up the tube.

Used to put 5 qts. w/filter change in my 70 K10 pickup and 69 Judge RA3 both original engines, then years ago found specs and both say 6 qts. w/filter, so went with specs. Dipsticks both showed overfull but both engines had been removed and am not positive dipstick tubes are at correct height. Running into same deal with daily driver now (2024 Kia Seltos sx 1.6 turbo) Specs say 5 qts. w/filter, dipstick shows overfull. So have same question, are all 3 manufacturers putting out incorrect capacity specs or??
