Re: My 94 cheyenne build.
nice looking build.these trucks are gaining popularity all of the time,it is still hard for me to wrap the idea in my head that these trucks are getting to the collectible stage of their lives.seems only like yesterday they were new.

Re: My 94 cheyenne build.
Well I havn't done a lot lately due to the weather getting colder. I finally installed the carpet and it came out great. The other thing I started today was to make my own Cowl Hood thanks to the threads by Stano and LiftednLoud88. I seen how they made there cowl hoods and I am going to give it a try since I have nothing to lose besides time. I cut with my dremel and was surprised how well it did for such small blades. It took about 10 small blades to cut both sides. These are a few pics of what I have so far. I will go out possibly tomorrow to buy the sheet metal for the sides tomorrow. First I had it about 4" with a 4x4 but decided it was to high and went about 2 5/8". I mocked up the sides with cardboard to get a feel of the final look. Let me know what you think.
These are with the height of 2 5/8" I think it looks better then the ones when it was 4". |

Re: My 94 cheyenne build.
Welll after calling around for some sheetmetal I was not going to buy a 4x8 sheet for the little that I needed. I had another hood that I decided to cut for the sheet metal. I will use the sheet metal that was left over to fill in the tailgate handle and the pockets on the bed rail. I wasnt' sure if my welder would weld the sheet metal since i am running flux core wire. There was only one way to find out and that was to try. To my surprise it worked awesome. Here are a fex more pics of the progress.

Re: My 94 cheyenne build.
It wasn't that bad as long as you have patience so it doesn't overheat and warp. I am not done yet maybe here with in the next week or so I will get time to finish it.

Re: My 94 cheyenne build.
Here is an update to the hood that I have been working on. So far I like it since I have no money invested in it. I have more time then money so I thought why not try.
I also was able to change out the hangers on the leaf springs today to drop the rear 2" more. I didn't like it having a rake. Here is the before and after. The hangers were not that hard to do. I didn't have to lower or remove the tank to get the bolts on the driver side. The only thing I need to work on is the emergency brake. The stock bracket had two holes but the one that came with the DMJ hangers only had one hole. I may need to fab up a bracket. |

Re: My 94 cheyenne build.
I like the progress you have with this truck! Did you take the side mouldings off yourself or did it come that way?

Re: My 94 cheyenne build.
I like 'em better with the moldings off. Makes it look sinister like that. Are you gonna keep the chrome grille too, or swap it out for a body colored one?

Re: My 94 cheyenne build.
No I am going to keep the chrome grill. Not sure if you seen the first few pics of the truck. It use to have the greay work grill and I converted it over to the chrome one. I guess the funny thing is anything is possible with projects and any thing can change at any time. For now it's staying chrome.
