Re: Worlds Slowest Dropmember Build
Here are some pics of the wheels.
I "borrowed" them from the Scott's Burb build and am mildly ashamed to say I am copying them.. Straight up.. I love the wheels.. They are brushed and cleared. I am contemplating do my bumpers and grill and pretty much everything that is shiny in the same brushed cleared finish.. We'll see how long I stick with that plan once I get some quotes from the chrome/brushed nickel shop..

Re: Worlds Slowest Dropmember Build
Damn, when those wheels came out I sent PTS a message asking for a price quote on them, and soon realised that I could not afford them right now. You dropped some coin on those! They look awesome on there though, and the build is looking sweet. Just keep doing a little at a time and before you know it you will be crusing in a truck that before only existed in your head.

Re: Worlds Slowest Dropmember Build
Made a bit of progress yesterday evening..
Had to do a bit of trimming and re-painting on the frame rails to fit this notch because they were slightly different.... but basically was an extremely simple process. I put my son to work a little bit... Thought I'd snap a picture of him doing some work. He's turning into a pretty good wrench. Heading out right now to finish up the rear frame section and install the rear body drop pieces. Will post progress later on tonight.

Re: Worlds Slowest Dropmember Build
hey Kevin
Don't forget you still need to drill the holes for the trailing arms cross member. I did the two on the bottom but not the two on top. I was going to take the cab off to do it right but never got to it. I am still in shock that you took not one but both of the fames apart.... Your crazy dude! lol can't wait till she is done. Ray |

I actually am going to try and pull the cab off this week (no idea where the heck I'm going to put it...) so that I can cut off the factory cab mounts and replace with the bolt-on body drop stuff. I'll get that cross member properly sorted out at the same time. I'm been doing my fair share of porterbuilt installation, dis-assembly, reassembly, etc. Having fun though Thanks Ray... hope you're doing well.

Re: Worlds Slowest Dropmember Build
OK.. got the rear pretty much buttoned up. It took way longer than I had planned because I had a constant flow of neighbors dropping by to chit-chat... They all think I am insane..
so.. I didn't powdercoat the rear tubular cross-member because I need to sort out the mount for the fuel cell and may need to do some welding. The truck came with a plastic fuel cell and Ray (previous owner) fabbed up a pretty cool mounting system... but.. I may end up going to an aluminum jobbie... maybe a boyds tank.. and as such.. I should wait before I mount the rear cross-member.

I think you started all this by naming Superfly as the Worlds Fastest DM Build.. I knew I couldn't compete with him so I thought I'd vie for the only remaining competition I could possibly be a part of Your truck is looking wicked BTW. Also, I may be in the market for some of your inner fenders... Not sure how they will work with my body-drop and wheel combo.. Once I get this truck on wheels/tires we can figure out if your "small" version will work or not. In theory if they work on GVizzle's truck they should work on mine..
