Re: 60-66 Patina's or O.G. Painted Truck Pics

If it's a 4X4, is it still considered "patina"....or is it called " faded, old and sure does need paint "...?

BTW.....The ol' '63 looks especially sweet when parked in a field full of posies.....don't it..........?

I guess I could share mine. Original black 61 Burb. Spent it's whole life in the high country sun in Wyoming. I don't usually care much for patina, but mine has really grown on me.

Wow, deluxe trim, chrome grille and a hood bird. Talk about cool.

Re: 60-66 Patina's or O.G. Painted Truck Pics

Thanks markeb01! It has a lot of things that make me wish I had more production info on these Burbs. I have a feeling it is fairly rare when you break it all down. You noticed the hood bird, it is the "stub nose" on a 62+ hood. Custom trim, V6, 3 row, factory black, tons of cool on it. I can not find a reason one to say that anything has been altered on the truck other than that "bumper" which is already changed out, and the seats which were changed to Cutlass fronts and the rears were ditched in lieu of storage space. I found it on CL out here and had to have that one. I am trying to get it running & driving for next summer.

Isnt that called surface rust?
I just dont get the whole "patina" thing.
Mister twisters is kinda cool cause its 98% covered and that takes time

and the lowered chevys that could get high centered on a speed bump make me cringe, especially the one with big fat rims.
thats precious metal
Oh well, Its their choice not mine.
Ive made my choice.

Re: 60-66 Patina's or O.G. Painted Truck Pics

Well.....here is my newest acquisition.....
I sure don't know what the true definition of patina is....but....
As far as this truck goes....it might have some good patina.
I count at least three, maybe four paint jobs....all of them in some state of "patiner"....
I think this is one of those "calico" patinas....
I think I'll name her "Short-Round".
