Got a little more serious today. Front end is off being sand blasted, once back on Thursday the lower arms will be cupped and the cross member will be raised 2". Bags will be installed and new motor and trans will go in. Next week the rear will be finished.

going to hand brass knuckles on the other panel opposite of the bottle opener. The pinstripe artist will paint, Play under the bottle opener and Work under the hanging brass knuckles. I am in the process of reupholstering the door cards.

I was talking to my friend the other day, wondering how to explain to a cop when I get pulled over the grenade, brass knuckles, bottle opener, and burlap door panels. It may be a conversation I have to record on the phone's video camera setting, could be a fun one!

He is working on the frame and suspension 2-3 days a week right now, when I go back out on Monday I pray it is sitting on the ground.
Last trip out was final assembly of the motor and bolting the trans on, still waiting on tubular motor mounts and crossmember to arrive. Cleaned up the engine bay fenders and radiator shroud. Leaving the firewall alone until we shave it.

Raised crossmember

More work today. Next the motor and trans go in, I have to install the new 700r4 crossmember its hitting the ground first, after that it should lay the front crossmember. I need to tub the front wheel wells that should get it 2-3" lower in the front. I just rested the front clip on top of the tires. Still waiting for the shortbed so we can cut the frame and install the 4 link.

Motor and trans are in, installing the mustang II manual rack and pinion, making wheel tubs for the front, running brake hard lines and running the fuel lines. Should have the wiring done in 2 weeks and fire it up!!!

You guys may like this update. Motor is in and sits at a nice angle back and sits low in the engine bay. For some reason I always like the looks of the motor at a slight tilt back. 700r4 is in with its new crossmember. You can see what happened to the new performance online motor mounts. I guess that's what happens when your truck isnt bolt on any more. I have stripped the cab and am working on rewiring the truck and replacing rotted rockers, lower doors, floor pans, and fenders. We have to tub the firewall since the tires are hitting, the new wheels are 255/55/18 and are .25" taller so I want to play it safe.

Enough blabber, here are the pics.











Shaved firewall, plan on shaving the inner fenders so everything is flat and smooth



rear setup, still needs 2" blocks to make the rear end lay frame and those will be in tomorrow. more tubular x bracing to be added.

Thanks guys, been very busy. But I am determined to have it driving by Jan 10th. No special day, just setting a deadline to see if I can get it. I tell you I have no idea how Overhaulin does this in a couple days, and of top notch quality!!!! I guess 25 sets of hands 24hrs a day helps!

Looking killer BBB!!!! I've seen front crossmembers pancaked but never notched into the frame. Does it use any of the original bolt holes?? How much drop did you get out of it?

It was raised 2 in. the whole assembly moved upward so the lower and upper control arms are still the factory placement on the crossmember. It doesn't require notching the inner fenders for control arm clearance but the top outer fenders and firewall need tubed to clear a 28" tall tire. the bolt holes where used for reference but everything was welded in. Also the lower control arms being cupped probably added 2.5" more of drop and the 2.5" spindles are being used to keep neg camber at a minimum.
