Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

I did new Raybestos unit bearings, rotors, pads, brake hoses, and an idler arm on my K2500 today. O yeah and a brake flush. Well still doing it. I'm waiting on my wife to bring pizza and to help bleed the brakes.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

Well...
My a-arm bushing came to a screeching halt. Came apart good. Pulled old bushings, upper and lower no prob. Went together better than I thought. I even got saucy and cut half a coil... ooOOOooh!
Got interesting when I was going back together with everything.
For one thing, the old rubber bushings must have been well-worn. Arms with new bushings are a tight fit. Thats a good thing I suppose.
Then I tried putting the coil in. Ha! Whats the old G.I. Joe saying, "Knowing is half the battle!"
Should have picked up a coil spring compressor because i've pulled out about all of the remaining hair I had left.
Well of to the parts house soon as the wife gets home. Might pull an all nighter.

Replaced the steering gear, pitman arm, and center link. No more rattle and shake just steers like new!

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

This is my first post. Yesterday I changed out my Left and Right wheel speed sensors on my 97 Suburban 2500 454. Under low speeds the ABS would come on and you would get the pulsating effect. Today I need to find out why oil is leaking down from right side of the motor and dripping off the right front axel

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

Changed oil and filter, rotated tires, bled brakes, and shot some black rubber undercoating-in-a-can into the visible areas in my rear wheelwells. Looks much better above my rear tires. Oh, and it stops better too.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

Just finished up with oil and filter change. Debated a tire rotate but the heat outside won. Just below 100 deg and no breeze. Nah... it can wait.

same reason aint nothing getting done to mine LOl.

I need to reinstall my rear tires, torque the lugs all around, torque the axle nuts up front, grease the idler and pitman arm, set toe, and other crap I'm sure I'm forgetting, but too hot.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

put my rear tires on, torqued all four wheels down, torqued the front axle nuts, changed the idler arm grease fitting to a 90 degree one, greased it and the pitman arm, reinstalled my skid plates. Also painted the center of my ds front wheel silver, I don't have the center cap for it so now it doesn't look as bad or as noticeable being painted.
