Yeah...GMC is not the smae. I'll have to try and find my GMC secret decoder ring and do up another poll/contest like this.
WOW!!!! number 27! that is awsome. I didn't think we'd get anything that low.
Any one able to beat him?
Maybe we should come up with a prize...that's a good idea.

I like prizes ...

... maybe a nice set of buckets, or a tilt column, or maybe a new rad support ... heck I'd settle for a nice chrome bumper ... lol ... my wish list is endless I did have a pic of this truck when I first got it. was gonna post it for you guys, but now I can't seem to find it. And seeing as how it's in about 1000 pieces in the garage, I don't believe I can get a descent pic of it now... lol ... Have to wait for the finished project I guess

I'll donate a 77 t-bird. That is, if you need a really good boat anchor.

What is it you're trying to figure out? You trying to decode it, or just getting the production number?

Vin

I would like to do both seeing as how I just picked up the truck last night, went to DM Frickin V and they tell me "I dont think that is a valid Vin number, also your truck is not in our computer.

So basically I would like to find out what I can.

The vin is CS1590KZC3534A

HELP!

Yikes, what the he!! kind of VIN is that?
You might want to go talk to the last owner and get him to un-screw this up. If he refuses, look into the legality of selling a tampered VIN truck. Your VIN does in fact look to be bogus.
Here is the GMC VIN decode for 69 and older.

Here is 70 and 71.

Wait, i just noticed I don't have 72. If yours is a 72, then disregard the comments up top and let me know what you find.

it has the original vin stamp on it!

and it reads the same!

Diamond in the rough????

I wonder if it makes a difference if this was a fleet truck?? Like maybe this was a particular run they did for a fleet. I know that it was a fleet truck for Lockheed.

Fleet ... that might explain it.
If the Tag looks untampered, I'd tell the DMV what tehy could do to them selves and give me some frikken tags.
