Re: A Moral Question

When I was working at the body shop, we had a wrecker service where I to keep a wrecker at night.I worked a call one night where a woman got shot. A few months later all you could see were lumps of matter and stains. But a PO said that all that could be cleaned by a clean up crew.

One of the drivers that was there backed his personal truck out to the back of the lot and shot hisself. His dad had the truck cleaned and if you didnt know it you would never know.

So do what you feel like with the situation.not being smart with this sentance.

Would u buy it ?
what are your thoughts?
I don't think it has anything to do with "morals". The PO of your '67 (or any other used vehicle you have owned for that matter) may have enjoyed picking up hookers, and doing all sorts of stuff in the cab of your truck. The bed may have been used to haul euthanized puppies. Who knows. The difference is, you DON'T know. With this truck in question, you DO know. If you think it is going to bother you (which I'm guessing it will, or you wouldn't be asking), then you might want to pass on it. All the bleach in the world won't remove the thoughts from your head that somebody actually did die in there, if it truly does bother you.

Re: A Moral Question

Thank you all for your advice the truck is now in my work shop took the whole truck dumped the seats all out at the yard it was at. Pulled out all the carpet and headliner doors are junk on drivers 16 holes in and 4 holes coming out the passenger side.

Now for the good

put a new battery in it and fired right up after cranking for 5 secs.

So i guess i have no problems now as for what to do now i'm thinking of fixing it and resale

i was only wanting the engine and trans for a 68 short fleetside build but i think i can get 15 to 17 out of the truck after interior and and 2 new doors and some body work

Re: A Moral Question

Just out of curiosity, are you required by law to reveal that someone died in the car to the potential buyer? I know if someone is murdered or dies of something other than natural causes in a house it must be revealed to the potential buyers. If not, are you planning on telling the buyer?

Re: A Moral Question

I'm a nurse.

Ever been to a hospital? I gaurantee the bed you were in has had people die in it. It's only what you make of it. If you can afford it and want it, buy it.

As for clean up, if you use bleach, put a little soap in it. Some bacteria/mold can encapsulate themselves against bleach. The soap breaks through the encapsulation and allows the bleach to breakdown the cell wall like it's supposed to.

Re: A Moral Question

It is a clean title so I basically stole it for what I paid.....
As for telling people I'm not sure if, I'm required to but I will say I bought it at a auction.

So far I found seats online and a Interior place i am going to contact as for the body work and paint i got a paint guy am going to try to find 2 doors then have a mobile glass place fix the rest. From what I added up I think i can get it all done for 4500-5500

my paint guy said he would paint the whole truck and jams for 900
windows will be 885.16 new front rear and sides

so can i get interior and seats done for $3700 ish ??

Re: A Moral Question

Congrats. You should be able to buy a whole nother toy with the profit! Are you thinking 15-17k in profit or for an asking price? In my area a 2011 1500 with low miles goes for mid 20s still.

Re: A Moral Question

Just call in The Wolf. He will clean it right up.

Buy it strip the interior and clean the rest with bleach/water solution. You can also go to medical supply store and buy specific cleaners for bloodborne pathogens.

Re: A Moral Question

I agree with LSUMurse. People die every day, and they have been dying for well, since the beginning of people. Nothing spooky or haunting about it. You sure got yourself a good deal on that truck. congrats.
