Re: Rebuilding the Redneck mobile

Unless you need the weight capacity, I'd take about half of the leafs or more out of those springs.

Re: Rebuilding the Redneck mobile

That'll give you a better ride for sure, but I would put the axle on top of the trailing arms. Just my .02

Re: Rebuilding the Redneck mobile

Not that I know of......was just thinking it will be kind of high in the rear. You'll need to change the spring pads on the rear end to the correct ones for the trailing arms though.

I don't remember what the axle tube diameter in on a Dana 70. You might check to see of the original dimension u-bolts will work with the dana 70 as well as the corresponding holes in the trailing arms.

Re: Rebuilding the Redneck mobile

ok, the axle tubes are 4 inch so im going to have to mod the trailing arms for it to fix. I like a high sitting truck so i'll probably keep the axle on the bottom.

What are you using to locate the axle?

Re: Rebuilding the Redneck mobile

the lettering is black duck tape. The Rear is just bolted in loosely so i can move the truck around i'll finish putting it where it needs to be after i get the trans in.
