Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Well I've had a few more therapy sessions with the truck. The motor, Trany & T/C are getting close to going back into the chassis. The motor & trany had been completely rebuilt by the PO, although I did partially tear the motor down to check things out, and I also sent the trany out to have it checked out and have the AA short NP205 shaft installed. I then cleaned and painted them the colors that I wanted. I also purchased new urethane motor & trany mounts. I stripped the T/C down to the bare case and completely rebuilt it with all new bearings, seals & gaskets. John ( Grendel ) has been very helpfull in get the parts & contacts needed to pull everything together and in return I'm helping out with his projects.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Looking at the pic's I realized that I forgot to put the magnet back in the bottom of the T/C. I hope I can get it in there through the inspection cover If not I may destroy a gasket or two taking it back apart.

It's easy to see what my favorate beverage is
Well I got the magnet back in the T/C but as I suspected I had to remove the rear cover and destroyed the gasket doing it. ( Don't tell John but I stole a gasket from his kit ) I'll have more pic's to post later.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
I'm planning on painting it two tone Hugger Orange and White . Just like this one. No pic's of the body at this time, it's in pieces in the shed, basement and any other place I could find room.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
My friend John ( Grendel ) bought the kits, I believe it was through NWF ( North West Fabs ) I'm rebuilding two T/C's for his projects along with mine.
His are going to be a bit more involved, NP203 doublers and stuf. These kits are complete or master kits. They have everything from gaskets to bearings & seals for just about any NP205 available !!!! Going though a divorce after 26yrs of marage is one of the most difficult things I have ever expirienced, having something to focus on and keep your mind occupied can be you savior. I have always loved working on a project, figuring out problems and fabricating things, my wife hated my projects, the way I look at it is I could have been at bars, doing drugs or chasing woman. Sorry for the rant, but it's part of getting through this thing !!!! Gary

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
My thoughts are the same Gary......that's what I tell my wife when she gets a little "testy" about all the time I spend on mine.....I could have worse habits..sitting in a bar, etc.....
Gotta be an adjustment after that much time with one women, but I'm sure you'll be fine...just takes some time. Besides working on your truck to pre-occupy yourself, you need to find some little hottie (even if it's temporary).......that's some of the best therapy I've ever experienced in my "times of distress" before the current Mrs! BTW......truck is gonna be hella nice!

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )
Hey sorry about the divorce but as most have said it was the best thing to ever happen to me. My wife now is the best women I have ever met love her to death. The truck is looking sharp but if you keep up the pace you will be looking for a new project soon. Keep up the great work can't wait to see more.
