Re: Does this look ok or stupid

if you look at my avatar, you will understand the next few words. On my Chevelle, I powdercoated the trans case before the rebuild. It turned out a gray color, but sure was easy to clean it when it got dirty. I might have painted it a more aluminium color, but like you said, the Tcase is going to be black, so I do not think it will look too bad.

That looks really good, I'll have to remember that for the next one. Just as long that it's not FORD red.

Looks fine to me, atleast if you ever get a leak, you'll be able to see where it's coming from!

I did my wheels with the aluminum paint like your transmission. I then hit them with a clear paint it toned them down very nicely. You might try that it is a easy fix.

My thoughts exactly. LOL

Should have painted it yellow....cuz yellow is fast.

Re: Does this look ok or stupid

That grey reminds me of boat engines. I usually use a dull aluminum spray paint from Krylon for any cast aluminim parts. I think they changed it to Matte Aluminim but should be the same product. Walmart has it. Works awesome. Eastwood carries a cast aluminum paint, too. Never used it, though.
