Okay for one thing I must say 'KUDOS' for trying something different and trying to save some money. My one question for you is did you try your invention before everyone talked you into buying new mounts?

A++ for effort!

And keep up the good work!

with $4000+ invested in a 383, I chickened out. I was afraid some unseen factor could damage my block. I think it would have worked fairly well though.

I'll try again in 4 years when I have my mechanical engineering degree!!!!!! hopefully the poly mounts last that long...... or the engine for that matter!!!!

Re: Will this Work, or am I crazy!!!!

SOMETIMES THINGS ARE NOT AS THEY SEEM!!!!!

my motor mount was not broken!!!!! instead, when I went to pull the motor mount off, I noticed that the motor stand had one bolt holding it on (instead of 3). long story short, the motor stand was flexing and making me hear that charicteristic motor mount alarm, the fan hitting the shroud.

I got the poly motor mounts in today too, they're built like a tank!!! I might keep them until I need them instead of sending them back.

Re: Will this Work, or am I crazy!!!!

Sounds like a winner.

That's one downside to fresh paint on something like that. Even if you think you have something bolted down tight, the paint will act as a lubricant. Shouldn't be a problem with the locktite and washers though.
