Re: Swing Arm or Leaf Spring for towing?

I need to find out why the stepsides are a good bit lighter than the fleetside. And I'm going to do some looking around at what parts are different about the C20s than the c10s, same bodystyle truck shows that the 20s are heavier than equivalent 10s by about 300 lbs.

Re: Swing Arm or Leaf Spring for towing?

Hey Robert....
I am building a truck for a similar purpose as you describe.
Started with a 1967 C20 and spent alot of time/$ to rebuild/refurbish the frame. Airbags, C notch, 14 bolt with rear disks and custom built watts link. Very stout. The body is finally out of paint jail in primer so as to continue fab work and fit up an LQ9/4L80E. Eventually a custom built tow hitch to come out through the rollpan.
Here is link to the long build thread so far.

Hope this info helps. The parts you need are out there to build good looking and strong rig. PM me with any questions.
