Looks really good! That first drive is always a bit of a rush and no problems is icing on the cake...

Re: Project Money green

Nice job. Did you also get the seats all mounted? I'm interested to see how you secured down the front seats.

What else is left to get that thing road worthy?

Re: Project Money green

Front and middle seats are mounted. Been driving it for a few weeks and it runs great, CPP disks work great it's like driving a new truck. Hopefully replacement springs will be here this week. Giving the interior some love now, headliner, new door panels, fat mat and new window felt to stop them from rattling

Looks great man. Glad it's on the road and running good. What did you use to mount the front seats and how did you anchor them down?

Had to make a few spacers out of some box tubing and bolted it through floor with grade 8 hardware and fender washers. Fronts were fairly simple to install

Re: Project Money green

The correct springs and shocks showed up Saturday so I swapped them out this morning. Went from CPP 5" rear springs to 4" HD and it sits level and rides much better. My brakes started to make noise so I'll have to investigate that.

Never ends, brakes only have 250 or so miles on them and only easy use. I cleaned the brake dust out of the rear slots/ drilled holes. Gonna try cleaning the fronts to see if it fixes the noise

Thanks, took it on it's first highway adventure today. Would be really nice to have another gear as 60mph is about all she's got. I am going to start planning my LS swap for this upcoming winter. Thinking of a L92/ 4l80e combo, the junkyard I got my seats at has a few of them for decent price

Re: Project Money green

Been getting a clunking sound from under the passenger floor so I went to shop today to fix. Found out body mount was toast, removed mount and cut and welded in a patch. I'll get it put in one night this week.

I hope so it's driving my OCD nuts. I swapped the mirrors for some sport ones and when I look at the truck all I can see is the holes that need to get patched and body worked

Re: Project Money green

Christmas came early for the suburban. Picked up a 2014 l96 6.0 out of a 2500 pickup and 2wd 6l90 trans to go with it. Engine is really clean and has 34k mile on it. Tranny has 21k miles on it. Gonna upgrade cam and ditch vvt and DOD before it goes.

Re: Project Money green

Been working for the past few weeks to get cam swap done. Ended up doing new head gaskets and arp bolts. Ls2 timing chain and cover. GM hot rod oil pan and comp cam trunion upgrade. Now that engine was back together I dove into truck this morning and made killer progress.

Started at 7 and had all the sheet metal off and engine trans out by 1. Old greasy 350/3 speed next to new 6.0/6l90 setup
