Parts time!! Scored a nice passenger front fender side trim. Lots of new parts too. Chrome bumpers, new rear bumper brackets and hardware. New gaskets and lenses, side marker light pigtails, interior aluminum door lock handles, gas tank filler neck grommet.

All the lights, horn, and wipers work. However brake pedal goes to the floor. No test drive.

Re: My 1968 C-20 vermillion metallic...1 in a VERmillion
Love the progress!
PS the interior vinyl parts are fawn. That was typically the factory 68 color when no option is listed.

Took a break on the truck. Did some work on my vw. Back to the truck now. Wheels back from polisher. Had the lips polished ( got rid of the machine marks) scored some lowering stuff at a swap meet. Installed new exterior mirror s. I really like the earlier style mirror on the 67-68 trucks.

I painted the center of the wheels a silvery-grey. Really happy with it! Last
Pic I painted wheel center on left right wheel is factory color. Not trying to match the stock interior color. Just have it as background for reference. Posted via Mobile Device |

Very cool. My 67 is vermillion with fawn color interior. I like the looks of the vermillion interior with the fawn accents though. Nice, nice truck.

Progress. I was curious to see if I could press the three-quarter ton ball joints out of the lower a arms and press in half ton ones. That will not work. Thankfully I had someLower CPP tubular arms I was able to put on to replace the stock three-quarter ton stock a arms. For the upper a arms I just drilled out the rivets and replaced the three-quarter tons with half ton upper ball joints no big deal.

While I was doing the half ton 5 lug disc brake conversion upfront I threw in a set of McGaugheys drop spindles 71-72 style also use the 71-72 style upper ball joint and will be using that same outer tire rod end. I also threw in a 2 inch lowered front spring.
