Re: Looking for info on building a Custom Guage Cluster

That looks great 1-PU70, has a clean look to it.

mr48chev: I have entertained the idea of using a glove box door myself. Got plenty of time to entertain ideas beings that I am deployed right now.

Its not a glove box door. Its billet aluminum and the gauges attach from the rear. Its been many years but I think Brothers sells a similar one.

I will correct my post on that, it was intended for the other guy that posted prior to you about using it.

The mileage is still wrong and we have no idea how many miles are on this engine regardless so it doesn't really matter to us. Yeah, I saw it for a $160 and grabbed it.

Re: Looking for info on building a Custom Guage Cluster

My truck has long lost it original motor. Has my own custom setup. I have no care about documenting the mileage of the engine. Its about documenting the mileage it has accrued since it came from factory, how many miles the chassis has and such.

Re: Looking for info on building a Custom Guage Cluster

Well, we still have the original motor and we don't really plan or have the money to replace it with something else but, we don't want to change it from the straight six we have to anything else like everybody else does. We found a site thats called 6=8 and the stuff they sell have v6s putting out as much as a v8s do. We wanna eventually buy new headers, gaskets, and rebuild the engine and keep the straight six. Anyways, I don't think me or my dad have any clue how many miles are on anything on my truck haha.

Re: Looking for info on building a Custom Guage Cluster

I understand. My didn't come to me factory, so I am making it the way I want it. My neighbor on the other hand, has a 68 that he has tempted me with. Gave me a price, though he is talking about his grandson wanting it now. It is all original, minus paint and wheels. Although, those are stored in his shed. Going to work on making that my next C10.

Re: Looking for info on building a Custom Guage Cluster

I wanna see that gauge cluster turn into a nice piece. I remember taping all the scotch tape on there about 12 years ago..... glad to see it go to someone that will finish it...

Yeah, I hope I can make it in to something that looks good. That lens won't be used, though I will probably clean it up and sell it. There will be pics of it when I get to it.
