Re: my 80 build
flamingbig10, you said you did your steering box twice? How hard is it to replace? I have a nasty leak in mine and was thinking of getting a new one.

Re: my 80 build
its not to bad, I did it by myself, it was I little tricky since its about
50ibs, make sure you unbolt the box from the frame last, it will make it a lot easier, the tools you will need is a floor jack, jack stands, line wrenches, socket wrench, wrenches, pitman arm fork, hamer and a crescent wrench

Re: my 80 build
today I removed the factory a/c and heater box, wiper motor, all of the wiring harnes, and most of the interior. I will be installing a new ez2 wire 22 circuit wiring harness, a new summit mojave heater, shaving the fire wall, adding heat shield, also i'm will be getting my seat and door panels coverd with blue and white leather, and also a tonneau cover
this is almost how the old wiring harness looked under the dash new 22 circuit harness

Re: my 80 build
I know but I didn't have $$$$ for a vintage air setup and I don't like the clutter of the factory a/c under the hood

Re: my 80 build
On new years Eve I finally figured out how the wires on my ez2 wire 22 circuit harness hooks up to the starter, Alternator, and H.E.I, It took me over a Month to figure it out, and if understood the instruction it would only took me a couple hours from taking the harness out of the box it came in, and wile I was rewiring I decided to Paint all the engine brackets but when it was time to put the brackets back on the alternator I couldn't find them, so I went to autozone and picked up a chrome alternator bracket with hard wear, so installed the bracket checked the fluids, and she fired right up, no problems, the first time my truck has started since before Thanksgiving and planned on driving around the block but I clean up for a New years party, and yesterday I drove it around the street with only thing working and wired up the wires that go to motor, ignition and the radio, also no seats just siting on the floor, I took my seats to upholster almost a month ago and guy just got the fabric yesterday, but I guess it's ago sine it not going cost a thing since I help the guy build a foundation for is shop, that going to that going to howse his 46 ford.
since I'm re wring my truck I decided to get new headlight plugs, parking light plugs, taillight plugs, euro turn signals from lmc, headlight switch, and dimmer switch the battery will be in the bed once I get longer battery cable, and firewall will be finished after the wiring is done between cab and inner fender if you close you can see the spedo cable and headlight, taillight, and motor wire

Re: my 80 build
looks good man.. i have the same wiring nightmare going on in my truck but im hidding everything so its a little more involved... i ordered a painless 20 circut kit and so far im in abou tthe same stages as you are but i am not running heat or a/c and i have air ride to wire up also... i put my battery in my bed so it only sticks up a little bit... the air compressor hides it pretty well though...
but the truck looks great man.. nice job on the paint |

Re: my 80 build
thanks slammer, some of the hidding was a chore, routing the wires that go to the front truck, since I routed them through the fender, I also need to move the hood release handle maybe behind the bumper
